Lighting doesn’t exist in a silo, and with a smart lighting solution you can think more holistically about the services in a building. With smart lighting you can build a granular network of sensors throughout the building, and with an open architecture it can be utilised by other buildings’ applications. For example, the system’s information and data on presence can support indoor navigation or trigger activation of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at the right time. The result is a lower carbon footprint, less energy waste, and less maintenance. Read more about the opportunities with Smart Lighting: https://lnkd.in/dYBetGP8

‘Reduce, reuse, recycle’ are pillars in all forward-looking sustainability strategies. By letting you know for how long they have been used and when repairs and maintenance are needed, smart lighting fixtures can last longer – and may even get reused. Whether you’re a property owner, real estate company, municipality or city, if you’re looking to future-proof your premises and get serious about going green, you should be exploring smart lighting right now. Here’s why. https://lnkd.in/dYBetGP8

Did you know that lighting makes up 15% of the world's energy consumption? In the EU, 40% of energy consumption relates to buildings. Waste no light. Smart lighting gives you total control, allowing you to adapt to actual usage and seasonal changes. You could cut energy consumption by up to 90% by ensuring lights are only on when needed and at the right intensity. To reduce buildings' average energy use, the EU has updated the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). This directive mandates all non-residential buildings within specific building size groups, to adopt smart lighting at set dates in a phased implementation. Each member state will design and finalize their national guidelines by May 29, 2026. Let's light the way to a more energy-efficient future! In the darker winter months, we truly realize how light impacts our health and wellbeing. Human-led design allows lighting to mimic daylight by adjusting light intensity and color temperature, positively impacting the physical and emotional health of people indoors. Correct lighting helps control the production of the sleep hormone melatonin and the stress hormone cortisol. Getting the lighting right outdoors – including streets, parking, and walkways – is also essential to create a feeling of personal safety and comfort. Adaptive light-level solutions allow light levels to be dimmed to a minimum or to warmer light temperatures when not needed, reducing light pollution and supporting biodiversity in rural areas. Read more about how smart lighting can contribute to healthier living in our guide, “7 Reasons for Smart Lighting.” https://lnkd.in/dYBetGP8
