Seems, that Donald Trump won the elections. We explain the meaning with some glimmer of hope. What does it mean? We have the choice between remove the economic system which is destroying nature and wellness and wars or waiting until climate change will remove both by itself. The elections are a step in the second direction. Why it happened? Biden begun good, he make more environmental actions than any other president. https://lnkd.in/exhvcPps All was well untill 2022. But after the wars in Ukraine and the Middle Eaast destroy all what he have done. After it became clear that the full "Build Back Better" agenda will not be implemented soon, some decided that war is the mean to accelerate the energy transition so you should not care about... https://lnkd.in/eS3x8m_v https://lnkd.in/eGe-xbiD In fact, wars destroy climate action all over the globe. Experts in October 2021: fossil fuels will peak by 2025 if countries meet their climate pledges. https://lnkd.in/ensETgM3 In April 2022: "fossil-fuels will peak between 2023–2025 and in 2050 fossil fuels will account for 43% of energy consumption". https://lnkd.in/eWjnmseY In October 2024: "fossil fuel consumption is expected to plateau between 2025 and 2035, they will continue to play a major role accounting for 40%-60% of energy supply by 2050" https://lnkd.in/emNs8W7S It happened in the USA also. Wars: 1) Created inflation = created discontent. More spending increase inflation = climate spending become unpopular. 2) Took all the money so there was not left for climate action. 3) Diverted attention, so climate, the main issue ensuring Biden victory in 2022, did not interested almost anybody. 4) Fossil fuels supply cuts, make domestic fossil fuels the mean for lowering prices inside, making money from selling abroad, so getting money for stop inflation, impoverishment. 5) People felt they live become much worse when fear and hate poisoned all around them. So they choosed Trump in which cadency there was less of those things. Positive side: If those thinking that wars are a driver of energy transition will now free themself from this devil's made illusion, due to this elections, then it will have more positive sides than negatives. A global meeting for stopping wars and diverting to climate the military budgets, creating a climate tax of 10% on millionaires and billionares, canceling debts of low icome countries with a condition they will turn it to climate - and you will peak emissions.

Climate change and its impact on Naima’s life. In the remote valleys of Chitral, young Naima lives a life that’s deeply connected to nature, she reuses, recycles, and does what she can to protect the environment she calls home. Her way of life stands in contrast to the busy cities, where single-use plastics and pollution are part of everyday routines. But like so many in her community, she’s facing the harsh impacts of climate change. Floods have disrupted their lives, putting homes and livelihoods at risk. Naima’s story shows us the power of small actions to protect our world. But it also makes us wonder: how do our habits, especially in cities, impact those who live so close to nature? In our rush for convenience, have we thought about who and what pays the price? It’s crucial for organizations and communities to step up and support those on the frontlines of climate change. #SustainableLiving #NaimaStory #Recycling #PlasticPollution #ClimateJustice #GreenLifestyle #ChitraliGirl #KarishmaAliFoundation #TogetherForChange #EcoChoices https://lnkd.in/dyHUB4Vc

The extract of the article written by the co-founder of World Weather attribution about Spain floodings. *** The death toll has risen to 214. Battered cars and other debris are piled up in the streets, large swaths of Valencia remain underwater, and Spain is in mourning. Anger erupted as the king and queen of Spain were pelted with mud and other objects by protesters. Why were so many lives lost in a flood that was well forecasted in a wealthy country? From the global north’s vantage point, the climate crisis, caused by the burning of coal, oil and gas, has long been seen as a distant threat, affecting poor people in the global south. THIS MISCONSEPTION HAS PERPETUATED A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY. I founded World Weather Attribution in 2014 to shift the conversation. Our attribution studies are carried out in the immediate aftermath of weather disasters to inform people in real time about the role of the climate crisis. The climate emergency made the extreme rainfall about 12% more intense and twice as likely. In Paiporta, where at least 62 people have died, floods were not common and people were not afraid. The changing climate is making once-rare events more common. How do you communicate the extreme danger of something someone has never experienced before? Forecasting is not enough. We need information on where to evacuate to and how. Emergency services need to be strengthened, not dismantled, as happened with the Valencia Emergency Unit. The EU has to increase funds and develop plans for prevention, rather than cleaning up the mess after. In Europe, rivers are canalised, and surfaces are sealed with concrete and asphalt to make a comfortable city for cars. For care about people, we need to give rivers space again, so that they have somewhere else to go, rather than into people’s homes. Urban sprawl is creating sealed surfaces and exposing people to devastating floods. We will see more. We are at 1.3C of warming, but we are on track to experience up to 3C by 2100. We need to learn survival. https://lnkd.in/eSDeQu-H *** What we can add? 1) People are not believing to the emergency alerts because the widespread climate denial. 2) Climate change hit even high income cities so if somebody finance climate denial for make money he hit himself. 3) No chances that we can allocate the needed resources for stop and reverse climate change all time as we are busy with fighting each other - in November 2021 scientists talk about 1.8 degree temperature rise by 2100, now they talk about 3 degrees. 4) If we will not unite to stop climate change it will stop wars by itself - already now countries can allocate less money to war because climate change strongly reduce the amount of available money. When it will bring GDP to zero wars will stop. It is better for people to stop it willingly. In the pictures: Rescue operation and protests after the flooding in Spain.

American elections 2: The article was written by a climate scientist, Allan Singer. As we say, while we can not say you for whom vote, we can write what scientists say, who are the more environmental from the candidates who have the chances to win currently. ********** "Before you vote for Donald Trump on November 5th or any of his Republican enablers, you need to worry about climate change. This is what Trump has said. Forbes: “Donald Trump told host Stuart Varney that climate change is ‘a hoax.” New York Times: “Over four years, the Trump administration dismantled major climate policies and rolled back many more rules governing clean air, water, wildlife and toxic chemicals.” Associated Press: “[Trump] rolled back dozens of environmental rules he considered overly burdensome on businesses. Many of the regulations were designed to protect the environment and public health, but were viewed by the Trump administration as costly and unnecessary.” Despite what Trump thinks, this is what is happening now because of climate change. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, “Climate change, including increased heat, extended drought, and a thirsty atmosphere, has been a key driver in increasing the risk and extent of wildfires in the western United States during the last two decades.” Since the 1980s, climate change has doubled the area of wildfires in the western United States. In California, fifteen of the 20 biggest fires in the state’s history have occurred since 2000. One in six Americans now live in areas at risk of wildfires. In 2022 alone, the fires affected 80 properties. In parts of the Amazon rainforest the dry season is months longer than it was in the 1970s. Trees are dying, accelerating deforestation. With the thinning of the forest canopy, the rainforest is less able to retain moisture, making the rainforest more susceptible to large wildfires. The ten deadliest weather disasters of the last two decades killed almost 600,000 people and all were intensified by global warming. They include tropical cyclones, heatwaves, floods, and massive droughts. In addition, many heat related deaths, possibly numbering in the millions, are not included in official figures. In 2008, Cyclone Nargis, intensified by climate change killed over 100,000 people in Myanmar. Global warming intensified the storm’s wind speed by 18% warming oceans boosted the volume of rainfall by almost 50%. In 2011, a drought in Somalia killed at least 258,000 people. Human-caused warming intensified the drought by disrupting rainfall as warmer temperatures caused moisture to evaporate from the soil. In 2023, a heatwave in southern Europe and the wester Mediterranean killed almost 40,000 people." https://lnkd.in/dHrqEhAC ***** So, consider it, when you are voting or persuading others to vote..

In the 5 of November we will have the elections in the USA. As a non partisan organization we shall not endorse one candidate, but we can explain what scientists say about which is better for the environment. Well, according to Carbon Brief analysis: "A victory for Donald Trump in November’s presidential election could lead to an additional 4bn tonnes of US emissions by 2030 compared with Joe Biden’s plans, (which Kamala is suggested to continue). This extra 4bn tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (GtCO2e) by 2030 would cause global climate damages worth more than $900bn, based on the latest US government valuations. For context, 4GtCO2e is equivalent to the combined annual emissions of the EU and Japan, or the combined annual total of the world’s 140 lowest-emitting countries. Put another way, the extra 4GtCO2e from a second Trump term would negate – twice over – all of the savings from deploying wind, solar and other clean technologies around the world over the past five years." https://lnkd.in/gXeykyeQ For whom shall one vote for - we can not say you. We can say you only which candidate is considered more environmental by the scientists.

We are talking often about overconsumption, saying it is destructive not only to environmet but also for health. How much it is really critical? Maybe only millionaires and billionaires are suffering from it? Let's see.. 1) Mortality from obesity reached 5 million people per year in 2019. https://lnkd.in/dBpER6Rc 2) Mortality from sedentary lifestule reached 3.2 million deathes per year. https://lnkd.in/gc8_tXvs 3) Obesity kills three times more people than hunger now: https://lnkd.in/dbEGCxWJ So, when we produce too much and pass all the labour for doing so to machinesת it kills not less than all impacts of climate change together... Let's continue. 4) About 40% of the clothes in our closets are rarely or never worn. https://lnkd.in/du4thAzV 5) 75% of the houses had garages so chock-full of stuff, there was no room for a car. Managing ever-growing volumes of family possessions is actually elevating mothers' stress hormone levels. https://lnkd.in/dmcv7qh8 6) In fact the amounts of things even create allergy asthma and anxiety attacks. https://lnkd.in/dVC5NnyZ 7) Congestion (too much cars) cost 305 billion per year in the USA alone. https://lnkd.in/dK--SGkg 8) About 83% of people, including 99% of Europeans and Americans, live under light-polluted skies (too much artificiel light) that are more than 10% brighter than natural darkness. 80% of North Americans cannot see the Milky Way galaxy. https://lnkd.in/dg5m7aSh 9) Noise pollution (too much machines, transport and propagation systems) is causing cardiovascular disorders, hypertension, high stress levels, tinnitus, hearing loss, sleep disturbances, faster cognitive decline and more. In Europe, 113 million people are affected by road traffic noise above the threshold at which it becomes harmful. https://lnkd.in/dj-UvWhh 10) A good, strong bag can last for at leat 20 years https://lnkd.in/dmF9KvEk If a family of 4 persons can live with 4 bags we need 400 millions per year. We surpass it by around 12,000 times. https://lnkd.in/dA6h5ZTA So, remember it next time when you have been told that "we need more economic growth!". Repost, please.

We have good news from Fridays for future Canada! An Ontario court has ruled that the provincial government's weakened climate target could violate the Charter of Rights and Freedoms - the first time that Ontario's highest court has ruled that a government's climate actions are subject to the Charter... Experts say the decision has sent shockwaves through some legal and policy circles — and could have meaningful consequences for governments that dial down their climate commitments (what happens very frequentely from the beginning of recent wars). "Kudos to the lawyers, and plaintiffs Sophia, Zoe, Shaelyn, Shelby, Madison, Alex and Beze". https://lnkd.in/ddvdgzP6 For more detailes: https://lnkd.in/gWY5c6XF Repost please to help them!

9 people are arrested in Stockholm, including 2 #ScientistRebellion, for #ClimateDemonstration, while people die and even in the richest cities where live among others people who make money on causing climate change. https://lnkd.in/dvXZKzNj In the same time "Key Atlantic current could collapse soon, 'impacting the entire world for centuries to come,' leading climate scientists warn" "Such an ocean circulation change would have devastating and irreversible impacts especially for Nordic countries, but also for other parts of the world," the scientists wrote in the letter. The Nordic countries include Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland and Sweden." Meaning the biggest impact will not be on the Global South, not on the least to blame. https://lnkd.in/dqH3tMwE Not too smart... Sadly people now do all except unifying against the common danger. What can you do: Demand from governments to begin to fight climate change, not earth defenders during your strikes. If not by altruism, at least by egoism, as self defence....
