❗ 🇧🇩 Bangladesh needs your help. Thousands of people lost their homes and livelihoods due to the recent flash floods. In August, heavy rains hit. Water overflowed after the gates of hydropower plants, barrages, and dams opened. The death toll from the floods in Bangladesh has risen to 71, with millions of people still stranded in devastated areas. The floods have affected approximately 5.82 million people, including 2.36 million children. More than 580,000 families remain marooned in 11 flood-hit districts. The floods caused irreparable loss and damage to innocent people. Climate Live Bangladesh Coordinator Nayon Sorkar and his community have been on the ground since the beginning of the floods doing rescue and relief distribution work for flood victims. At the beginning of the flood crisis, they urgently coordinated with four organizations and started working together by adopting the 'We Are With Flood Victims' initiative. They rescued 750 people in the flooded Feni district and distributed food items to 1,500 families. Also clean water, and medicine. They are now focusing on providing re-housing assistance, essential food supplies, equipment, medicine and livelihood support to restore their normal lives. Initiative: Restoring Normal Life. Your donations will provide critical support to families affected by these devastating floods, helping them recover and rebuild. Flood victims need your support. Current floods update: After the terrible flood that created history in August, at the end of September and at the beginning of October, more new districts including Sherpur, Mymensingh, Netrakona, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Noakhali districts of Bangladesh are being flooded with flash floods. Hello people of LinkedIn! After encouragement from friends I am going to start properly using this - sharing updates about my work and engaging with all of your amazing work. Speaking about myself doesn't come naturally. Thank you pals for pushing me. I guess a good place to start is a little intro on what I've gotten up to so far... Hi, I'm Frances, a 23 year old intersectional youth climate justice activist. I have worked in the intersection of music and climate advocacy for 5 years as Founder and UK Director of Climate Live: a global youth-led charity, with teams in over 40 countries, who organise concerts and festival campaigns to engage a new audience in the climate movement. Some recent acomplishments include coordinating Climate Live's inaugural pavillion at the UN COP28 Conference, running the Climate Live Bus Stage at major festivals in the UK and helping coordinate simultaneous concerts in over 30 countries. Whilst working with Climate Live I have assumed a wide range of roles including Operations Manager, Team Coordinator (team sizes ranging from 5-80, managing paid staff and volunteers), Stage Manager, Artist & Speaker Booker, Fundraising Lead, Partnerships Lead, Marketing Lead, Campaign Lead, Spokesperson, Treasurer, Photographer, Videographer, Video Editor and Sound Engineer. I am passionate about harnessing the power of music for climate justice, the importance of youth-led organising, platforming those most affected by the climate crisis whose voices are often underrepresented, and climate advocacy being intersectional. Places I have spoken about this include TED, BBC News, Sky News, The Independent, NME, Glastonbury Festival, Reading & Leeds Festivals, Vision 2025's Sustainable Events Summit, Solutions House and at the 2020 Bristol Climate Strike Greta Thunberg came to in front of 30,000 people speaking on behalf of the UK Youth Strike 4 Climate movement. I am also an activist with Fridays For Future International. I helped coordinate the youth climate strikes locally in Bath and Bristol, nationally in England and internationally. As the UK Student Climate Network's Celebrity Outreach Coordinator, alongside Greenpeace UK, I rallied support for the 2019 global climate strikes from influential figures including Billie Eilish, David Beckham, Mick Jagger and many more. I am currently taking a year out of University to focus on developing Climate Live. I am studying Environmental Sciences and International Development at UEA. Before deciding climate activism was my calling, I was on the British Youth Sailing Team. I competed at numerous World, European and National championships. The last 2 Laser (ILCA now) events I competed in were the UK Laser Radial Nationals 2017 where I placed 2nd Under 21 Female, and the Laser Radial Irish Nationals 2017 where I became Irish Female National Champion. Since this I have been on the UEA Sailing Team, winning national university team racing events, and become a UEA Sports Scholar.

Booking the lineup and organising the stage for Climate Live for Reading Festival this year was tremendous. I felt such joy and pride at how many people came along to see our acts and panels which included some brilliant talks from Dominique P., an amazing set from Alfie Templeman and a raw set from Seb Lowe who came straight from main stage to our bus. Also loved speaking about How Film, Tv and Theatre Drive Change with Jake Pemberton, Simon Schatzberger, Jack Howard and Paige Janey. What a feat. It feels good when hard work goes well. Back to the future - open to conversations and collaborations

Saturday night in NYC ... end of climate week. And I am at the wonderful The Marketplace of the Future. Came last year and buzzing again this. Added attraction that Rachel Kiki Tabizel, Frances Fox and Dominique P. of Climate Live have just been on a panel on 'How Music Fuels Climate Action'. (I bumped into them last weekend as we traveled in from the airport.) From panel facilitator, Lilian Liu, I learnt three statistics (which is an excellent amount of information at the end of an extremely busy week!!!): 60% of plastic and vinyl in US music products come from a factory in Thailand with a particularly concerning environmental footprint. 2% of global CO2 emissions come from data centres - that's the same as air travel - and music streaming is part of that. (Breakdown directly attributable to streaming is not clear; work currently being done on numbers.) 3.5% of US population is the proportion needed supporting a push for a particular issue to lead to legislative change. Lilian's thesis was that over 3.5% of the US population must go to music concerts each year; literally a 'target audience' re calling for climate action. (A friend asked for more info on the 3.5% stat above. Lilian gave me this link: https://lnkd.in/ehNXGNnK) #climateaction #climatechange #climatemusic

Mainah Trust Founder. UNFCCC COP27 & COP28 Delegate. COY17 Facilitator. Coordinator at Climate Live Zimbabwe. Climate Diplomat.

Day 1 of the YOUNGO Local Conference of Youth on Climate Change in Zimbabwe! Climate Live Zimbabwe was one of the organizers of the event. We had engaging discussions and powerful voices as young leaders came together to explore innovative solutions for building climate resilience. We are laying the groundwork for a more sustainable future, driven by youth-led initiatives and partnerships across the region. We had multiple panel sessions on UNFCCC UN COP Processes and COP29 Agenda. This is the right platform for the youth to understand these processes and meaningfully engage in the Zimbabwe COP29 Agenda.

Creative at Warner Bros Discovery - Kids

If you're going to Reading Festival, go in a big pink bus 🤘 Thank you excellent Rachel Kiki Tabizel for having me on Climate Live's How Film, TV & Theatre Drive Change panel. We talked about raising up young Creative voices, the film industry needing to put its green money where it's green mouth is and the importance of making interesting, cool stuff in a world where big corporations are eyeing up and sanitising all the fun niches. Great scheme for a great cause! I have now experienced being on a bus in a way that few can comprehend 👁️👁️ 📸 - Climate Live
