Today, we’re delighted to announce that Egil Mølsted Madsen will be joining Karo as our new CFO starting on 3 October. Egil’s extensive expertise and strong background in the healthcare sector, combined with valuable insights from working in private equity, will be instrumental as Karo continues its growth journey. Egil will be stepping into the role as Jon Johnsson transitions after five years of impactful contribution. Introducing Karo's Supplier Decarbonisation Program 🌍 Tackling the climate crisis requires collective effort. At Karo, we recognise that our sustainability impact is deeply linked with our suppliers, given our business model of an outsourced supply and distribution chain. This week we launched our Supplier Decarbonisation Program, with over 50 suppliers attending the digital launch event. The program is built on three key pillars: 1. Supplier Commitment and Target Setting 2. Data Collection and Annual Reporting 3. Decarbonisation Implementation As part of this initiative, we are asking our suppliers to set Science-Based Targets aligned with the 1.5°C pathway. The initiative aims to connect, share knowledge, and set ambitious targets together, making both Karo and our suppliers more competitive and better prepared for current and future requirements from consumers, customers and regulations. Together, we can create a resilient and sustainable supply chain that meets the demands of today and tomorrow. In recognition of WHO World Health Day 2024: Through our newly established award for extraordinary achievements, the Smile Recognition Award, our well-deserved winners Estel Filella and Giorgio Paoli earlier this year had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the impactful work of Operation Smile on site in Madagascar. They learned about the important work being done and have beautifully shared their experiences with the Karo Community, deeply affecting and inspiring us all with the big difference we can make by supporting causes like Operation Smile.   Since 2018, Karo has been a dedicated partner to Operation Smile, and for the last three years, we have focused our contributions on a specific nutritional project in the Philippines. This program aims to support children with poor nutritional status, born with cleft conditions, in overcoming the most common barriers to receiving surgery.   The partnership with Operation Smile is part of Karo’s Sustainability work, where we’re improving the health and well-being of people and societies. #smartchoices #everydayhealthcare #worldhealthday
