We are proud to announce the inauguration of a 24-megawatt green hydrogen plant developed and built by Linde Engineering for Yara International. The plant is based on proton exchange membrane technology from ITM Power and will provide hydrogen for the production of low-carbon fertilizer. It was officially opened by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre at Yara’s industrial facility at Herøya in Porsgrunn, Norway. Linde has signed a long-term agreement with H2 Green Steel for the supply of industrial gases to the world’s first large-scale green steel production plant. Linde will build, own and operate an on-site air separation unit (ASU) in Boden, Sweden, to supply oxygen, nitrogen and argon to H2 Green Steel’s integrated plant. The plant will use the latest technology to reduce carbon emissions by up to 95% compared to traditional steelmaking.
