The impact driven venture arm of Paulig, investing in early stage start-ups in and around the future of food.
Om oss
PINC stands for Paulig incubator. It is the venture arm of Paulig: a corporate venture capital unit that invests in early stage start-ups in and around the future of food. The objective of PINC is to help Paulig renew itself and prosper as well as contribute to a tastier, healthier and more sustainable planet. We aim for strategic, financial and societal impact: the magnitude of each varies with different start-ups in our portfolio. We are an evergreen fund: we do not have a determined time for exit but always acts in the best joint interest of the start-up and investors.

What’s get measured gets done. ✅ To leverage the potential of agriculture for positive change we need data that is easily traced in the food supply chain. 🚜 Improvin' is doing exactly that! See below for how it works 👇
🎙️ Is granular on-farm data key to impacting agricultural emissions? 🎙️ Ian Welsh from Innovation Forum sat down with Niklas Wallsargård, CEO of Improvin’, to discuss the vast potential of granular primary data in helping agri-food businesses reduce the environmental impact of their value chains – and how understanding the day-to-day grain trading operations is essential in scaling positive change. 🚜 Tune in to hear all about it 👉 https://lnkd.in/d7_qnpAE Find the episode Spotify 👉 https://lnkd.in/dQrsvqsT

Some of Marika’s take-aways from World Agri-Tech London 🌾🌾🌾
First time at World Agri-Tech in London! A few take-aways: 🌾 Food security should be declared more of a state of emergency: last 3 years have had the lowest yield in the last 10 yrs. Yield will continue to decrease due to weather, war and energy - also the farmer toolbox is getting smaller since at the same time we want less chemical inputs and decarbonization 🌾 Mixed views on whether Agtech is VC-fundable: on the one hand long cycles to return, on the other the ecosystem is still immature (compare e.g. pharma) 🌾 Because of this, but also to help validate and scale up, learning to involve strategic investors earlier (go CVC!) 🌾 Hottest verticals: regen ag/soil health, robotics/automation/precision IoT. Runnerups: crop genetics, animal ag, ag-fintech 🌾 The farmer business case is no 1 (duh!), but didn't see many farmers at the conference (maybe they need a serious discount:) A few highlights: 🌻 Despite only having focused on Agtech in the last year and bit, we had three PINC portfolio companies there! Loved seeing OlsAro and Improvin' busy at their booths and also Amatera working the floor:) 🌻 The generosity and collaboration in the Agrifood scene is amazing. Special shout-out to Sara Olson, PhD from Leaps by Bayer, Maxime Walter from Capagro, Alexandra (Ali) Morrow from Clay Capital fka VisVires New Protein 🌻 Best panel on Investing in Agtech since moderator Adam Anders from Anterra Capital knows how to make a panel interesting: making statements, have panelists say yes/no or hot/cold and then explore the differences. Nothing more boring than panels where everyone agrees! 🌻 Meeting old and new friends An Michiels Patrice Sellès Nicky Deasy Giacomo Bastianelli Tom Viaene Helene Virasith Eyal Cohen Peter Higgins Mark Durno Elisabetta S.
