I had no idea that the first rear-facing car seat was invented in Gothenburg, #Axkid's hometown. I've made so many jeans in #SubstancePainter over the years but have never been quite happy with the result. I think I've found a pretty decent workflow now though - check it out below! Since the mesh from #MarvelousDesigner is folded I didn't like the baked ambient occlusion I got, so I recreated an ao-map using the UV Outline generator, pretty neat trick! I also used the Curvature generator and height map anchor points to create the look of wet treatments a pair of jeans normally goes through. I've found that a bit hard to recreate in the past, but I think this approach works pretty good! Long time no post! 👋 Having had some time between projects at work I wanted to develop my skills in Unreal Engine and made a Rapid Images branded sneaker. The model is downloaded from Substance Assets and textured with Adobe Substance 3D using Painter. Being able to "model" with displacement is great for someone like me who avoids modeling as much as possible. And then to be able to leverage Nanite in Unreal is absolutely amazing! I also tried out the new material system, Substrate, to get some nice subsurface scattering. I felt like the colors didnt pop as much as I wanted them to, so halfway in the project I decided to start working with ACES instead, it got a bit messy, but I learnt a lot. To be able to take full advantage of that I color graded everything using Davinci Resolve, which was completely new for me but is now something I'll bring in to my workflow, such a great tool!
