Last week, Business Sweden, in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden in Madrid, Spain, the Embassy of Sweden in Lisbon and the Swedish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (CLS), organised the Swedish-Iberia Renewable Energy Delegation in Lisbon and Madrid. This initiative fostered collaboration between Swedish companies and key stakeholders in the Iberian energy sector. As Spain and Portugal pursue ambitious climate neutrality goals, there is a growing demand for cutting-edge technologies in wind, solar, green hydrogen, and energy storage—underscoring the relevance of Swedish solutions in the energy transition. The delegation featured B2B meetings with companies such as Iberdrola, Repsol, Cepsa, Ren, and EDP, along with presentations from IDAE. SENS announces strategic acquisition! We are pleased to announce that SENS has acquired 100% ownership of two sub-projects within the energy storage initiative at Pyhäsalmi, Finland. This acquisition includes an 85 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and a 75 MW Underground Pumped Storage (UPHS) facility, both situated in Callio Business Park. The acquisition gives SENS immediate right to full ownership of these assets in ready-to-build status, able to advance to construction phase. This acquisition also enables SENS to tap into the €26.3 million grant awarded to the UPHS investment by Finland's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment (MEAE) in September 2021.
