It’s all downhill from here. STS Alpresor is Scandinavias’s biggest tour operator for skiing and hiking trips to the Alps. Established in 1976, it had retained its original logotype since the inception, for almost 50 years. When the decision was finally made to update it, The Studio was asked to help renew the brand through a more modern, distinct visual expression better reflecting the active, sporty and energetic nature of its DNA. And after having relied heavily on printed materials like brochures, there was also an overdue need to make identity elements more adapted to digital communication. The Studio created a new logotype that is reminiscent of the old one but more contemporary and impactful, and paired it with a multilingual wordmark and a custom designed numerals set. Identity assets also include a stylized mountain symbol along with a series of pictograms, a bold and clear working typeface and an updated, punchier, colour palette. All of this eventually came together in the design of the travel giant’s new website. Timeless yet modern, the new identity is made to last for many years (although perhaps not 50 years).
