Disposing of marine fenders after their service life is a significant industry challenge, as their large size and recycling complexity often result in them ending up in landfills. Trelleborg Marine & Infrastructure has identified an innovative facility that breaks down the entire fender. Through advanced technology, damaged or old fenders are inserted into a reactor where high heat separates their components. This method converts rubber into combustible oil and reusable carbon, both of which are used in the manufacture of other rubber products, while the steel components are reclaimed for further use. For more information on the more sustainable disposal of fenders, connect with our local office: https://bit.ly/403eZxa #SustainabilityLeader #RubberFenders #PortsandMarine
