At a recent event at #FutureMaritimeForum at King's College London, our Marine Division President, Sameer Kalra shared his insights on the status of emission reduction in the #maritime industry. In his talk on the topic ✳️ ‘Regulatory and Industry Reforms for Emission Reduction in Maritime Industry’, Sameer, elaborated on the challenges and the best way forward for the maritime industry to navigate towards a greener future. “As the net-zero target of 2050 looks increasingly challenging for maritime to meet, we must advocate for globally unified and technology-neutral regulations with clear penalties and incentives to enforce them. Additionally, we need to collaborate across industry organizations to facilitate innovative decarbonization pathways, create demand for green technologies and execute net-zero plans within our organizations to achieve emission reduction targets.”-Sameer Kalra The Forum, which explored novel fuels and technologies for operational excellence in maritime, brought together some trailblazers and experts who are shaping the future of the shipping industry.
