Congratulations to Steven Okun Deborah Elms Taimur Baig and Drew Thompson for a wide-ranging geopolitical discussion tonight at 1880 Singapore . "In Episode IV of 1880 Singapore's Trump 2.0 series, they discussed how tariffs are being used as a blunt tool to address complex issues, the growing pushback from global markets, and the shifting role of Asia in trade and security with a focus on US-China tensions and Taiwan’s strategic position." The first 57 days of Trump 2.0 have been anything but boring.

Presentation. Pitching. Performance. With unique insights from broadcast, commentary and event hosting in elite sport and TV, I help teams and leaders ace presentation, perfect their pitches and perform at their best.

🔥 There’s something special about being in a room where everyone speaks the same language of passion -- whether it’s about business, sport... any pursuit where expertise and enthusiasm collide. Last night, I was in exactly that kind of space, listening in at 1880 Singapore Club as ex-F1 driver and my former Star Sports/Fox Sports colleague Alex Yoong, F3 regional champion Nikhil Bohra, and motorsport enthusiast Bunty Bohra held a session in front of a packed studio. The topic? 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚 𝟏’𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡, its future, and what to expect in 2025, when the new season blasts off in Melbourne this weekend. I’ve spent my career speaking to experts -- athletes, coaches, executives, and leaders -- and what always fascinates me is how much you can learn from those who live and breathe a subject day in, day out. Formula 1 is peak an exclusive sport and can come across as being exotic to the point of inaccessibility, so, sometimes it takes the people who love a thing the most to make it more relatable to fans old and new. Here are just a couple of takeaways from the session: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚 𝟏 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐦: 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 🏎️ F1 has transitioned from a largely-European-centric sport with a hardcore but niche fanbase. 📈 Today, each race pulls in 1.5 billion viewers globally, and the sport is valued at more than $17 billion, driven by the Netflix "𝐷𝑟𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑆𝑢𝑟𝑣𝑖𝑣𝑒" effect and massive expansion into the U.S. and Asia. 🌍 In places like #Singapore, the sport’s appeal has evolved far beyond a night race spectacle for “petrolheads” -- it’s now a culture, a business, and a leadership case study. At 1880, the trio of experts also explored the drivers, the rivalries, the tech innovations, and the stories that will shape F1 in 2025. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓: 𝐅𝟏’𝐬 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 🔴 Hamilton’s Ferrari Gamble: Can Lewis Hamilton handle the pressure of Maranello and outshine Charles Leclerc? 🔴 Red Bull vs. The Field: Is this another Verstappen masterclass, or can McLaren or Mercedes challenge? 🔴 McLaren’s Rise: With Norris and Piastri, do they have the best driver lineup on the grid? 🔴 Williams’ Surprise Factor: Could Carlos Sainz be the key to a historic comeback? 🔴 Which of the six “rookies” on the grid this year will be the breakout star? Having worked with Haas' new signing Oliver Bearman at last season's Singapore Grand Prix, I'd love to see him continue to shine. 𝐅𝟏 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰-𝐡𝐨𝐰. It’s about decision-making under pressure, narrative control, innovation and strategy. It's a global phenomenon. So, who’s your team to watch this season? And what sport, business, or industry do you follow with this level of passion? Drop your thoughts below! 👇🏽🏁 #Formula1 #DriveToSurvive #F12025 #Passion #Performance #Leadership

From paratrooper to Antarctic explorer, Dr. Michael Richardson dedicated 14 months as the Team Doctor on a South African Antarctic expedition, sparking his passion for mountaineering and exploring across North Africa, Europe, and Asia. Last year, with an introduction by his daughter Mitty Martin, Director of Membership at 1880, he shared extraordinary stories from the Antarctic expedition, the many facets of team life in a remote base, and the beauty of the continent that have inspired him through the snapshots taken. I couldn't wait for "The Age of Impatience" (see what I did there?) event at The Marketing Society featuring Quilt.AI and Accenture Song at 1880 Singapore But wait, not one but MANY presentations on AI and its transformational impact, smart panelists and even the chance to make your own fragrance ("Hints of musk, roses and ginger"). PLUS a particularly GREAT case study from Kalindi Mehta about how The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. are tracking, responding to, surfing on and profiting from trends in near real time. Very good evening with the 3 C's (content, colleagues and cocktails). #AI #Marketing #Innovation #MarketingSociety #QuiltAI Accenture Cindy Tan Xiaowei Liu Sohil Tiwari Erica Kerner Siew Ting Foo Sophie Devonshire⚡️ Matthias Blume Amrita Randhawa Lynette Pang Lex Bradshaw-Zanger Severine Vauleon Claire Pinel Anurag Banerjee Gita de Beer Richard Bleasdale Chris Baker Adrian Toy Angad Singh Chowdhry Brynie B McBurney Current Asia Jack Shillito Caspar Schlickum Andrea Seifert

  • Creating a space where individuals feel safe and empowered to be their best selves is crucial for leadership. Last year, we saw how living authentically and resisting the pressure to conform to the expectations of others allowed leaders to inspire and guide those around them to grow in their own truth. “Our greatest success is in living authentically, not by others’ expectations.” At the same time, equanimity is a skill that leaders need. This means not tying one’s identity or emotional state to how well the business is doing, but moving with the waves without getting overwhelmed or tossed around. It’s essential to celebrate the wins but not get too attached and learn from failures but not let them define you. We’d like to thank the panellists, Matthew Spacie, Pranapda Phornprapha-Chirathivat, Rachel Lim, Anuj S for their inspiring insights. 1880 Singapore x Dragonfly360
