Diplomatic Network (ASIA) reports that the Singapore private sector continued to expand in October, although its expansion slowed amid supply constraints and high inflation. “October’s S&P Global Singapore PMI data brought positive news again in the form of a solid expansion in private sector activity,” said Jingyi Pan, an economics associate director at S&P Global Market Intelligence, in a note on Tuesday. “Growth in Singapore’s private sector output at the start of the fourth quarter had been underpinned by a strong increase in new business inflows, with anecdotal evidence pointing to improvements in underlying demand conditions and with successful promotion efforts driving the expansion,” Pan continued in a separate, exclusive interview with DNA. Turkiye celebrated the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Turkiye with a Republic Day reception at the Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore at the start of the month. The reception brought together members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of Singapore’s Turkish community, and Singaporeans. Turkish Ambassador to Singapore Burçin Gönenli hosted the event. Meanwhile, Singapore Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Defence Heng Chee How attended as guest of honour, representing the Government of Singapore, Ministry of Defence of Singapore. October was a festive month for the Republic of Cuba, marked by numerous national celebrations, including Cuban Culture Day. In honor of the Day of Cuban National Culture, held on October 20 every year, two esteemed Cuban chefs, Eddy Fernandez Monte and Rodolfo Lago Reyes, traveled to Singapore. Her Excellency Lisbet Quesada Luna, the Cuban ambassador to Singapore, took this opportunity to host some of the Latin American diplomatic colleagues, as well as members of the Singaporean business and cultural communities. Held on Tuesday at Nobu, the renowned fusion restaurant nestled within the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Singapore, a DNA member. The elegant venue provided the perfect setting for this important gathering.
