Halogen Charity Golf 2024 ⛳ was not all about the game — it was a swing toward making a lasting impact in the lives of youths. We raised $283,598 together with our participants all in support of youth development! This amount will directly fund Halogen programmes that focus on building the character, mindsets, and skill sets of young people that will inspire them to lead themselves, lead others, and lead change. 🤝 A heartfelt thank you to our presenting sponsor, CIMB, for your incredible partnership and support that empowers us to nurture entrepreneurship, build resilience, and shape young leaders who will positively impact their communities. 👏 Another big thank you to Mr. Kian Peng Seah, Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore, who has graced us with his presence and speech this evening. To all 140 golfers who joined us to tee up for a generation today, we want to thank you for bringing your impact beyond a game of golf! Your generosity and participation will continue to impact young lives, long after the final putt 🏆 💡 Interested to contribute to the greater good? Find out more at https://halogen.sg/

🕵️♀️❤️🔥 DID YOU KNOW? The ability to identify your passions is closely linked to the skill sets of opportunity recognition and future orientation. At Halogen, we believe every young person deserves a chance to uncover their core motivations, curiosities, and interests – but not all of them have the equitable access to resources to do so, like positive role models or financial stability. 👉 This is where you can step up for your community. Help us equip 15-year-olds in developing these crucial skill sets, setting them up for success in a world that has grown increasingly complex. 💲 Provide equitable opportunities for youths by donating at https://lnkd.in/gzveq6tQ 💡 Learn more about how NFTE benefits youths at https://lnkd.in/gzU3s3PG

Our recent Corporate Engagement Session: Igniting Mentoring Impact, was a profound experience filled with powerful takeaways to inspire more collaborations that uplift the mentoring scene in Singapore. 💡 🌟 Led by Brian Liu, PBM, a passionate advocate for mentoring, he set the tone by highlighting how mentorship drives leadership development. It helps mentors build essential skills like active listening and holistic thinking while fostering authentic connections across organisations. Andy Lim from Halogen brought the focus to youth, reminding us that mentoring isn't just about helping young people land their first job—it’s about empowering them to find their purpose and thrive in an ever-changing world. 🌍 🚀 Raunak Bhandari, IHRP-SP shared a powerful message: Mentoring, when driven by purpose and genuine care, becomes a powerful force—not just a tool for employer branding or a tick-box CSR activity. When guided by authenticity, mentorship creates a culture of belonging and unlocks career transformations. If these takeaways resonate with you, you won't want to miss the National Mentoring Summit 2024! In fact, Raunak will dive even deeper into scaling mentoring impact through collective actions that can transform organisations, industries, and lives. 🎟️ Secure your tickets now at www.nms2024.com!

🌟 What a memorable start to our mentorship programme with Halogen! 🎉 We were thrilled to welcome 10 ICT students from Temasek Polytechnic to our Southpoint office. One of our mentors even rushed down from reservist, still in his uniform, to attend this session. A big shoutout to Cynthia, our CCO, for an insightful opening speech, setting the stage for what’s to come. 👏 The ice-breakers were a hit, and we can’t wait to see what the students take away from this experience! 💡 Here’s to learning, growth, and new connections. 🙌 #MentorshipMatters #EmpoweringYouth #TemasekPoly #LifeAtPCSS #teamPCSS

🤼🏼🤝🏆 I realised our journey was going to be focused on collaboration, not just finding solutions. This was an unexpected lesson that Chau, a Fellow from the National Young Leaders Fellowship (NYLF), took away during the programme's induction week. From Vietnam to Singapore, her first ever international trip was more than a fun travel experience — it was a step towards making tangible impact for her deaf community back home. 📲 Swipe on to read about Chau's full experience as she explores how to tap on her community when problems arise, what sustainability means to her, ways to create trust among her teammates, and her thoughts on Singapore. 🔗 Read the full article at https://lnkd.in/gwisav-3 #NYLF2024 #FellowsOfHalogen #iamafellow24 #halogensg #youthsg #sgyouth #thingstodosg #instasg #sgig #singapore #nonprofit #selfleadership #vietnam #deafcommunity #deafawareness

𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞. This is gold advice from Shamir Rahim, Tech Founder of VersaFleet. One of my favourite entrepreneurial stories in the book, Entrepreneurship Unlimited, published by Halogen Foundation. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐭: 👇 ▫ 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺: Look for co-founders who complement your skills. In the tech start-up world, there’s a concept called the ‘Holy Trinity’—the hipster, the hacker, and the hustler. The hacker handles the tech, the hipster drives design and product vision, and the hustler closes deals. No one excels at all three, so don’t try to do it alone. Collaboration is key. ▫ 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: In today’s business economy, there’s more room for collaboration. Leverage partnerships and teamwork to achieve greater success. ▫ 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀: Learn the rules of the game, but don’t be afraid to challenge them. By questioning the status quo, you may uncover new opportunities or even find gaps to build a business around. ▫ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹: Don’t rush to drop out of school to start a business. Your education is a valuable safety net, and school is also a great place to find co-founders, investors, or future collaborators. ▫ 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸: Meet as many people as possible. Every individual you encounter has knowledge or insights you don’t, and learning from them can open unexpected doors. ▫ 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗞𝗲𝘆: Ideas are plentiful, but it’s execution that matters. Focus on turning ideas into reality by executing them effectively. Penning down this advice in my journal, and I genuinely hope that sharing this advice has been helpful for other entrepreneurs out there. Thank you, Shamir Rahim, for being a constant inspiration :) Featured on: Asia Prestige - Prestige 40 Under 40; Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SMCCI) - Young Entrepreneur of the Year; Singapore Tatler - Generation T; National University of Singapore - NUS Outstanding Young Alumni Award. #entrepreneurship #tech #ai #startup #singapore #venture #vc #growth #advice #network #wharton #business

From challenging their employees to draw skibidi toilet from memory (everyone drew such cute versions of it) to sharing with them about Halogen's impact within the community — we had a blast at ByteDance's Open House event last Saturday! Thank you everyone who dropped by to play games and get to know our team 🫶 Halogen was invited as ByteDance's Corporate Social Responsibility partner to share more about who we are and the Halogen x TikTok Mentoring Programme, where we bring youth participants through a six-month journey to hone the character, mindsets, and skill sets relevant to their future career pathway. 💬💡 If the key to navigating our world well lies in understanding the youths who will lead us 10 years down the road, are we truly prepared to face what's ahead? As the world grows in complexity, there is a pressing need to invest in youths to prepare them to take the helm of our economy, country, and world. To understand today's youths on a deeper level, the Halogen team conducted a focus group discussion earlier this year and uncovered the core values, experiences, interests, concerns, struggles, and motivations of youths, amidst today's rapidly evolving and complex landscape. 📰 Read the full article to unlock the perspectives of youths that are key to navigating a better future together at https://lnkd.in/gbZsaxCR

⚖️🤔 In life, there is no such thing as a "best decision." While some may consider this obvious, for many younger individuals who are just stepping out into the world on their own, it is a revelation that shifts their entire perspective on life. The complex world they live in start to grow slightly more navigable. This is one of the eye-opening lessons that Carolyn, a 2024 Fellow from the National Young Leaders Fellowship, took away during the programme's induction week. 🔗 Read about the youth's full experience as she explores the nuances of leadership, the impact of a community, and the value of failure at https://lnkd.in/gc8EtTga Yinzhou Cai Saleemah Ismail #JaneIttogi #NYLF2024 #FellowsOfHalogen #iamafellow24 #halogensg #youthsg #sgyouth #singapore #nonprofit #selfleadership
