AGI in 2025? None other than OpenAI founder Sam casually mentioned that. One of the biggest challenges on the road to AGI is its definition. People keep moving the goalposts, and not everyone agrees on a single definition. My personal take is that we’ll have GPT-5 or Orion in early 2025, and O2 late 2025. Combined, these advancements could bring us to AGI in 2025.

Same mistake, again and again: if you think you can build world-class healthcare AI without knowing anything about healthcare systems or medicine, YOU ARE WRONG. We've seen tech bros and their companies try to disrupt healthcare multiple times, only to fail. The clear reason? Lack of context. Healthcare systems and information are incredibly complex. Believe me, I'm all for moving fast and breaking things (with ZERO patient harm), but too many people still think they don't need any healthcare knowledge to create solutions for it. As a physician and tech startup founder, we’ve succeeded because we deeply understood the system, enough to find where disruption could actually work. If you’re truly motivated to make a difference in healthcare, you’d already be showing that in action. So please, if you're working on healthcare AI, bring people with real healthcare experience close to the project. OpenAI, let's do better! Thank you to Yudara Kularathne MD, FAMS(EM), the Singapore Emergency Medicine Society (SEMS), and the Asian Society of Emergency Medicine (ASEM) for hosting me for a virtual Grand Rounds to discuss integrating #AI into #EmergencyMedicine. We discussed how Emergency Physicians can use LLMs for the following: 🖥️ Clinical Decision Support 🩺 Operational Tools 🎒 Education 🥼 Research We also talked about 5 guidelines for LLM use: 😷 LLMs should enhance - not replace - our clinical judgment and expertise. ⚕️ We need to figure out how to upskill ourselves and our colleagues to utilize AI for improved medical care. 🛂 Privacy and security need to be protected. 👾 Monitoring for errors is critical. 💊 We need to follow best practices as outlined by governmental institutions and medical specialty societies - like the AMIA (American Medical Informatics Association) 2 resources from the slideshows: 1️⃣ American College of Emergency Physicians NOW - Leveraging Large Language Models in Emergency Medicine: Opportunitites, Risks, and Cautions: https://lnkd.in/gyrhKdaY 2️⃣ BMJ Innovations - Stanford Emergency Medicine Partnership Program: a novel approach to streamlining the evaluation and implementation of emerging health technologies through academic-industry partnerships: https://lnkd.in/gZt7Ftqn Christian Rose Nick Ashenburg Maame Yaa "Maya" A. Our minds will struggle to figure out what is real and what is not. It's a crazy time with AI impacting every aspect of life, and there will be a lot of chaos

Nature Portfolio Scientific Reports: Disease Classification Model Using 100% Synthetic Data with an AUC of 99% — Too Good to Be True? When we first introduced this method, the world called it “snake oil.” Still skeptical? Read on. Imagine building a disease classification model entirely without real patient data, while preserving complete privacy. At HeHealth, we deal with some of the most sensitive health topics, so privacy is paramount. Because we truly care, we innovate aggressively to solve this problem. Starting with just 10 guide images, we create a comprehensive clinical dataset, controlling for disease variations, lighting conditions, skin tones, and more, resulting in high-quality data with minimal bias. One of the biggest questions we faced from ML community was concerns about overfitting. Read on to see how we completely avoided it, even having to provide secondary validation to reviewers before our results were accepted—no easy feat! At HeHealth, we genuinely care about our users, and we show it through our actions. A big thank you to my Harvard team Dr. Lao-Tzu Allan-Blitz, for working tirelessly to achieve this milestone! and my our advisors Prof Klausner and Prof Rietmeijer.
