Wow, I am now a Friend of the Arts! I'm humbled by this recognition by National Arts Council and it was great exchanging pointers with Minister Edwin Tong SC and Lynette Pang at the same time. The opening address by Swee Chen Goh is also a powerful reminder why Hustle & Bustle Group started on this journey, wanting to bring people closer through art, among many other educational and entertaining experiences that we want to create in future. The Chihuly Garden exhibition during the pandemic marked a pivotal milestone. Despite pandemic’s challenges, we welcomed more than 500,000 visitors to witness the breathtaking beauty of Chihuly’s glass sculptures in public spaces at Gardens by the Bay. The exhibition soon became a beacon of hope for many, as we also created meaningful art installations with Extraordinary People Limited using 18,000 recycled plastic bottles and facilitated long-term public art installations involving iconic exhibition sculptures which are now situated at the Cloud Forest and One Holland Village. Last year, we had the pleasure to collaborate with renowned French artist Cyril Kongo at Marina Bay Sands, where children beneficiaries from the The Business Times Budding Artists Fund had the unique opportunity to work hand-in-hand with the artist himself to create a graffiti masterpiece together, with fund proceeds from the artwork sale donated to the charity fund thereafter. In the same year, Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience at Resorts World Sentosa redefined accessibility to the arts, especially for the less fortunate, who found new ways to connect with Van Gogh’s masterpieces. We facilitated complimentary tours for charity beneficiaries to join us at the exhibition to fully immerse themselves in the unique experience. My heartfelt appreciation to everyone who have been part of this meaningful journey! I'm delighted to share that I recently had the opportunity to speak with the bright students from the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) in their Bachelors in Hospitality Business program. On May 14, 2024, I returned to my alma mater to dive into the fascinating and ever-evolving world of the MICE industry. As an alumnus of the program, I shared my journey in the industry, offered valuable advice relevant to different stages of my career, and emphasized the importance of building a strong foundation in skills and knowledge while staying open to opportunities. BeyondX started off several years ago as a dialogue organised by ONG&ONG PTE LTD about tech in the AEC industry, and has since grown in leaps and bounds. Today, in partnership with our subsidiary Hustle & Innovate, BeyondX is poised to be a regional platform that explores and showcases the transformative power of technology in shaping the future of how we live, work and play.
