We’re proud to support SUROVI in the Narir Khomota project, empowering women in Bangladesh through computer literacy. Since its start in February 2024, this initiative has equipped 61 women with essential computer literacy skills, opening doors to new personal and professional opportunities. Many participants had no prior computer experience, but after completing the tailored training program, they’ve gained confidence and are eager to apply their skills in the job market. We’re thrilled to be part of this transformative journey and look forward to witnessing their continued success!

As we roll out #SHEISMORE this year, let’s take a look at some of our past submissions. Introducing Seoyun Kang, a 15 year old artist from USA. Seoyun’s painting “Overcoming memories” beautifully captures the audience’s attention through its vibrancy, Let’s hear from the artist! “My artwork titled “Overcoming Memories” portrays a portrait of myself and how I overcame a tragic event in my life. In California, where I reside, there have been countless wildfires around me. Several of these events had a big impact on me and has now become a part of who I am. That is why I drew fire on the right, which merges into my hair and onto my face. Moreover, I wanted to portray the feeling of relief and a breath of fresh air after such a detrimental event with the blue colors and dandelions on the right side of the painting. I even included streaks of the color blue on my face, showing a stark contrast between the warm colors of the fire. The facial expression that I expressed in the painting illustrates the theme she is more along with resilience. Even though the wildfires were a huge misfortune at the time, now, I have come to reflect and learn from the event. My personality has become tougher and now, I can handle problems with more ease. Viara’s painting “Girl and Ram” captivates the audience through its intricacy. "Ram symbolizes strength, courage and power, but little girl symbolizes innocence, purity and love. In my painting the little girl dares to stand against the strong big ram and succeeds to tame him through the power of pure child's love. I would like to show the strength of a girl who stands up against the societal norms and shows her spirit. She has the courage to accept challenges because she is confident and she knows how to stand up for herself. She is more than a little girl - she has the power to change the world!" Here’s her story: “When I was little my teachers would always say I had my head in the clouds. That was the main inspiration behind this painting. As we continue to celebrate She Is More 2024, let’s look back at previous submissions that showcase women’s empowerment. Take this piece from 13-year-old Deepshikha De from India. She titles this piece as “Dance as if no one is watching” and here’s how she describes it: “We, ladies and girls, worry a lot about our life, our career, about where life will take us. I think sometimes it is good to be just ourselves and do what our heart wants. I have drawn this dancer who is dancing her heart out. I wish we all get a chance to do what we love to do.
