Invitation to Inspiring Asia 2024: Bangkok, Thailand Screening Session Now in its third edition, the Inspiring Asia 2024 Micro Film Festival continues to celebrate powerful storytelling from across the region. This year's theme, "Sustainability," focuses on innovative stories of hope, resilience, and progress, addressing today’s most pressing environmental and social challenges. From 70 submissions across 8 countries and regions, 15-20 films have been shortlisted for the Bangkok, Thailand Screening Session, which will be hosted at Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation, Chulalongkorn University. What makes this festival unique is that the audience will play a critical role in voting to decide which films become finalists. Your participation will have a meaningful and direct impact on the outcome of the festival. The Community Chest Singapore Committee for 2024 to 2026 term has commenced with the introduction of seven new members, including Mr. Lionel Li, Chairman and Founder of Li Foundation, bringing with them diverse expertise and fresh perspectives to the team. This term also retains key leaders, such as Vice Chairman Ted Tan, Secretary Yi Young Lam, and other seasoned committee members, who contribute their valuable experience and insights from various professional backgrounds. Under the leadership of Chairman Mr. Sutat Chew 周士达, the committee is well-positioned to further #CommChestSG ’s mission of supporting over 200 programs that assist children with special needs, families in distress, and other vulnerable communities across Singapore. The dedication of both new and returning members underscores a shared commitment to strengthen social services and foster a culture of giving in Singapore. #CommunityChest, the philanthropy and engagement arm of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) #NCSS, was established in 1983 to engage the community in supporting those in need through fundraising and volunteering. With a mission to empower social service users to lead lives of dignity, it raises funds for over 200 programs across Singapore, enabling social service agencies to focus on providing care and assistance to vulnerable groups, including children with special needs, youth-at-risk, adults with disabilities, families, seniors, and individuals with mental health challenges.

It has been five years since SportCares – Li Foundation MultiSport programme (“#SLFMSP”) started. Led by a phenomenal team, under the guidance of exceptional leadership, everyone has played a pivotal role in shaping the program’s success. SLFMSP2.0 is an ongoing 5-years programme supported by Li Foundation and SportCares, the philanthropic arm of Sport Singapore. The programme provides school and community-based training focusing on swimming, running and cycling for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged between 7 to 20 years old who are on financial assistance as well as vulnerable children, at-risk youths, and those with special needs. It aims to provide a platform for the participants to achieve better educational and developmental outcomes as they develop resilience and perseverance to steer clear of negative influences and delinquency. SLFMSP is heartened to receive the continuous strong support of our community partners who have been with us for the past years. Strategic partnership with National Sports Associations (#NSAs) such Aquatics Singapore, Singapore Cycling Federation and Triathlon Association of Singapore allowed SLFMSP to leverage on technical expertise, training curriculum and facilities relevant for our participants' physical, cognitive, and social development. Beyond sports, SLFMSP also incorporates Youth Coaching Development Programme, an initiative that allows aspiring youth coaches who are present or former SLFMSP participants to secure their coaching credentials with CoachSG and give back to the community. This journey has been marked by significant progress and fulfilment. Witnessing the evolution of the program has been incredibly rewarding, as it has continually inspired and positively impacted lives. By maximizing each participant's potential, SLFMSP has made a profound difference, driving personal growth and transforming lives along the way.

Singapore Silent Hero: Love Is Not Rare | Inspiring Asia Micro-Documentary Film Festival 2023 Kenneth Mah, the 10th Singapore Silent Heroes Awards Winner, transformed his despair into determination amidst his daughter Chloe’s battle with Pompe Disease. He founded the Rare Disorders Society (Singapore) (#RDSS), and his advocacy led to the creation of the Rare Disease Fund, underscoring Asia’s commitment to addressing silent struggles. Renouncing his career to care for Chloe, Kenneth embodies the deep-rooted values of sacrifice inherent in Asian culture. Today, RDSS supports 180 individuals, offering refuge and camaraderie. Chen Bo - Singapore Silent Heroes | Inspiring Asia Micro-Documentary Film Festival 2022 At the grand old age of 97, Mr. Tan Kok Sing (known as ‘Chen Bo’ to many) is an inspiration for an active lifestyle. Known as the oldest skydiver in Singapore, he parachuted from a plane in Australia to celebrate his 90th birthday. #ChenBo founded the Tiong Bahru Garden Joggers (TBGJ) in 1977 to help teenagers kick bad habits like glue sniffing and started to promote marathons in the community. In 2017, he donated $100,000 to the One Team Singapore Fund, in TBGJ’s name. In June and July 2024, the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) hosted 2 sessions of the "Dialogue on Asian Philanthropy and Family Legacy". This is in relation to #CEIBS Family Office Diploma Programme (#FOP), designed to provide family wealth creators and inheritors with in-depth insights into the four objectives of sound governance, risk prevention, wealth management, and business succession. Bringing together prominent figures in #AsianPhilanthropy, the panel of speakers were made up of Mr. Laurence Lien, Acting CEO of Asia Philanthropy Circle(#APC), Mr. Lionel Li, Chairman of Li Foundation, and Mr. William Gondokusumo, Founder of Campaign #ForABetterWorld. Moderator and emcee for both sessions was APC Li Nan, who kick started the afternoons with a warm welcome and introduction of the APC, setting the stage for an engaging and thought-provoking session as the speakers shared and discussed impactful journeys and the legacies of philanthropic families in the region with their audience. These sessions concluded with a Q&A, allowing the participants to interact with the speakers and gain a deeper understanding of their philanthropic efforts. Lionel's participation underscored Li Foundation's ongoing support for initiatives that promote innovation, integration, and impact, contributing to a brighter and more inclusive future.
