From Hesitation to Transformation – Moran Z.’s Healthy Longevity Talent Incubator Journey (#HLTI2024) Moran Z. almost let doubt hold him back. Two weeks away from work felt like a big sacrifice—but at the last moment, he took the leap and applied to #HLTI2024. That single decision set him on an unforgettable journey of courage, connection, and clarity in the field of #healthy #ageing. At #HLTI2024, he wasn’t just absorbing knowledge—he was living it. Hitting the streets of Singapore for city surveys, he faced the challenge of striking up conversations with strangers, handling rejection, and embracing the unknown. 💡 “HLTI gave me a core life skill—courage. It’s something that’s difficult to train without the accountability and environment this program provides.” Beyond the intensity of discussions and hands-on projects, Moran Z. found himself among a brilliant, driven community—peers who challenged his thinking and expanded his vision for ageing research. 🔬 Now, he’s carrying this momentum forward. As an MD/PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, Moran is diving deep into how adipose mitochondria influence obesity, metabolism, and ageing. His goal? To develop and implement evidence-based interventions that extend the healthy lifespan of Australians. HLTI was just the beginning. Will it be yours? ⏳ Application Deadline: 18 April 📍 Apply now: https://lnkd.in/eFjJTCya 📅 30 June – 11 July 2025, National University of Singapore (NUS) 🏡 Meals & accommodation provided Jane Ong J.J. We are delighted to announce a pivotal publication in #NatureMedicine, exploring the transformative potential of #cities, #communities, and #clinics for research on the human exposome and aging. This study advocates for a shift in healthcare from a disease-centric model to one focused on #prevention and population health improvement, highlighting the impact of environmental and non-genetic factors on #healthspan and #resilience. 🏥 At the heart of this research is the concept of the 'Human Exposome Project', which aims to understand how external exposures—such as social, psychological, behavioral, and geo-physical factors—interact with internal factors like #genetics and #physiology to shape health trajectories, particularly in the context of aging and chronic diseases. Congratulations to the extraordinary team of authors for their invaluable contributions: Tina Woods, 🐨 Nicola Palmarini, Lynne Corner, Nir Barzilai, Dr. Michael Sagner, Andrea B. Maier, Joanna Bensz, Alexey Strygin, Nikhil Yadala, Dr. Carina Kern, Peter Ward, Luigi Ferrucci, Evelyne Bischof, MD, PhD, Richard Barker, Paul Shiels, @Gerome Guiot, Jennifer Monti, Jamie Justice,Brian Kennedy and David Furman. 🔗 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eVWH_pMG

Announcing the publication of our latest paper in Nature Portfolio, which outlines the pivotal work being done to accelerate the promise of geroscience. The paper highlights the pivotal role of the Academy for Health & Lifespan Research in promoting geroscience by targeting aging as a biological process to extend healthspan. It highlights initiatives such as: - Supporting geroscience trainees through programs like the Marine Biological Laboratory Biology of Aging Advanced Research Training Summer Course. - Establishing working groups to address misinformation, publish white papers, and plan conferences. - Collaborating with organizations to reshape public perception of aging. The mission focuses on advancing gerodiagnostics and gerotherapeutics, promoting interdisciplinary research, and advocating for the recognition of aging as a preventable, modifiable condition. This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the dedicated efforts of our esteemed authors, Nir Barzilai, Risa Starr, Eric Verdin, @Laura Niedernhofer, André Bertram, Gordon Lithgow, and especially Prof. Andrea B. Maier. Dive into the full paper to explore our findings: https://lnkd.in/eV-mviUE
