Step into a real-life Hundred Acre Wood at Alkaff Lake Gardens in Bidadari Park. But it’s not just pretty scenery: This park also features a man-made lake, designed and engineered by PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency, which helps control stormwater runoff, enhancing flood protection in Bidadari estate and the surrounding areas. If you're looking for a weekend outing, consider stopping by Alkaff Lake for a visit!

🤢🙅🏻 The team-up nobody asked for! Pigeon droppings dirty and soil the environment, and spread diseases. Here's what you can do to help keep our shared spaces clean! ✅ Do not feed pigeons. ✅ Dispose of food waste properly as leftover waste will attract pigeons and other pests. With 2024 being the Year of Public Hygiene, collective action is needed to ensure a clean environment for all. Let's all do our part for a cleaner and greener Singapore! #YearofPublicHygiene #SGGreenPlan

An oil leak occurred at an area between Bukom Island and Bukom Kecil on Sunday. NEA has issued an advisory against swimming and other primary contact water activities at the beaches at East Coast Park, Kusu, St John's and Lazarus island. PUB is monitoring the seawater intakes at our desalination plants. SFA is in contact with our fish farm, and advised them to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures as necessary. The MSE family will continue to monitor the situation and share updates as needed.

An oil leakage happened yesterday at an area between Bukom Island and Bukom Kecil. Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, Singapore and its statutory boards are working closely with relevant agencies to ensure public health and safety. As precautionary measures: National Environment Agency and PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency have deployed booms at key areas of East Coast Park, West Coast Park and Marina Barrage. NEA has issued an advisory against swimming and other primary contact water activities at the beaches at East Coast Park, Kusu, St John's and Lazarus island. PUB is closely monitoring the seawater intakes at our desalination plants. As of today, seawater quality readings remain normal and the plants’ operations are not affected. Singapore Food Agency is in contact with our fish farms and has advised them to continue to be vigilant and to take precautionary measures as necessary. As of today, there have been no reports of fish farms being affected by the leak. We will continue to monitor the situation and share updates as needed. Food waste? Not on Holocene's watch! 🍎🍐🍌🍉 Holocene is changing attitudes towards food waste upcycling through hands-on composting and farming workshops. 🥬🥕 With the support of the SG Eco Fund, Holocene has successfully engaged at least 100 households at Kim Tian West, and even onboarded 30 households for bi-weekly food waste collection drives. Learn more about how Holocene is sowing the seeds of circularity one veggie at a time, and how the SG Eco Fund is helping them achieve their goals here: https://lnkd.in/gKD__i2g #Community #Compost #Farming #Sustainability #SGEcoFund

Water is Earth's most precious resource, but more can be done to recognise its importance worldwide. The Global Commission on the Economics of Water (GCEW), co-chaired by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, has released its report on how the world can change the way it values, manages and uses water. The report calls for the world to shift its mindset and recognise the water cycle as a global common good, which can only be fixed through collective action, so that it can benefit people across boundaries and cultures. It also highlights several concrete steps that can be taken to accomplish this goal. Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/gTVhQxne
