𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑨𝒍𝒈𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒎𝒔 -I shared this thought in the recent 𝐁2𝐁 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 by The Ortus Club - Executive Knowledge Sharing on event marketing strategies. Relevance algorithms are used to determine which information is most relevant to a user's query or needs -by assessing, selecting and recommending what information is most relevant to users. To extrapolate to B2B event marketing, the events need to be curated as “𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵” as possible to the pain points of the target customers to achieve the intended objectives. In other words, the marketer needs to be visible in the pathway of ‘relevance algorithms’ of the decision journey when the targeted customers choose to attend this event versus other events based on the relevancy of the said event to their pain points/needs. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘴’ 𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘴. It was a great delight to know my fellow marketing leaders and to glean from their insights and experience on B2B event marketing strategies. Len Augustine, Magnus Alvarsson, Dieter J Runge, Olivia Sulistio, Muhammad Idrees Paracha, David Allinson, Ruchira Bose, Prem Akella, Kristina Reyes, @Vishal S., Andy Xu, and Rudessa Mae Belican, UAP. Huge thanks to the Ortus Club Sabrina Manansala, Frances Rianne Reyes @Roman Manuel Isaiah Bareng for organizing this forum to share perspectives. Let’s have fun in distilling the relevancy of customers’ needs to our services. Happy Diwali to those who are celebrating.

How Are B2B Event Marketing Strategies Tackling ROI and Engagement Challenges? We recently gathered B2B marketing executives to discuss the evolving landscape of event marketing. Here are the key takeaways: 🎯 Aligning Sales and Product Teams for Accurate Tracking A common challenge: coordinating across sales and product teams to log event activities and outcomes in CRM systems. Without complete tracking, proving ROI and securing future budgets becomes difficult. 📊 Evolving Metrics Beyond KPIs Event success now focuses on lead quality and customer journey impact, not just attendance numbers. Many marketers favour ROI over traditional KPIs, especially when measuring long-term brand impact. 💡 Intimate, Targeted Gatherings Gain Momentum Participants shared how small-scale events, such as executive forums and roundtables, are ideal for deeper, high-value conversations and targeted engagement, delivering stronger results and ROI. 🤝 Brand Awareness vs. Immediate Sales Many raised the difficulty of measuring ROI for events that aim to build long-term brand awareness rather than direct sales. Conversions often occur months later, underscoring the need for a holistic, patient approach. 🌍 Virtual vs. In-Person Preferences Though virtual events remain popular, some markets now prioritize face-to-face interactions for the personal connection and networking they foster, especially in high-stakes industries. Overall, flexibility and a focus on relationship-building are becoming essential in B2B event strategy. As the landscape evolves, successful event marketing clearly requires a blend of data-driven insights, collaboration, and tailored formats for diverse objectives. Thank you Natalie Dickmann, Agnes Bihari, Anthony Kennedy, Ian Foulds, Maja Loncar, Ben M., Asier García, @Kathrin Helmrich, and Ken M. for the valuable insights shared!
