Raising standards in PR and communications in Asia Pacific
About us
The PRCA was founded in 1969 and launched the PRCA Asia Pacific in 2021 which replaced the PRCA Southeast Asia, launched in 2018. The association’s aim is to raise standards in PR and communications, providing members with industry data, facilitating the sharing of communications best practice, and creating networking opportunities. We represent more than 35,000 PR professionals in 82 countries worldwide. Our mission is to create a more professional, ethical, and prosperous PR industry. We champion – and enforce – professional standards around the world through our Professional Charter and Code of Conduct. The Code compels members to adhere to the highest standards of ethical practice. We deliver exceptional training, authoritative industry data, and global networking, and development opportunities. We also manage the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO) – the umbrella body for 41 PR associations and 3,000 agencies across the world, and LG Comms – the UK’s national body for local government communicators. Additionally, we support the delivery of the Motor Industry Communicators Association (MICA).

PRCA APAC reposted this
• TriOn & Community • Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DE&I) is important for every organisation as it allows for new perspectives, a fair environment and a sense of belonging for every employee. 👥🤝 Our Co-founder, Charu Srivastava AMIPRS, who is also the Chair of the PRCA APAC DE&I committee, launched the seven-point charter which aims to eliminate discrimination and bias, promote fairness and equity, and create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and supported. “We believe that establishing a robust charter is essential in driving positive and real change within our industry. Our goal is to provide industry practitioners with practical guidelines that promote a culture of respect, equality, and inclusion." Industry Survey Alert! 🚨 With a greater push to return to the office and a reduction in working from home, how has this shift affected women in our industry? Is there still flexibility on offer, albeit in a different format? Global Women in Public Relations are keen to understand if the move back to the office has impacted the recent improvements that allowed more women to achieve a better work/life balance and make childcare and/or caring responsibilities easier to manage. Despite women accounting for close to two-thirds of the workforce in PR and Comms, there remains a significant imbalance in the boardroom. To establish and track the facts and help find solutions, the GWPR team have launched the sixth edition of their GWPR Annual Index. Please share this appeal for survey responses with your network. The questionnaire is available in English, French, Spanish, German, and Italian. You can access the links to these at globalwpr.com/annual-index.
