Recently, our senior leaders conducted guest lectures at the Singapore Management University to engage students on key topics in public policy and technology. 📌 Allan Phua (IHRP-SP), Senior Director (HR Policy & Strategic Planning), spoke at the Introduction to Public Policy course by Prof. Ishani Mukherjee, PhD. Drawing from his multi-sector experience, he shared how policy formulation and implementation has evolved within the Public Service to address complex challenges. 📌 Gek Khiang Tan, Chief Information Officer & Director (IT), joined the Doing Business with AI course by Prof. Thomas Menkhoff offering insights into the opportunities and challenges of AI adoption in the HR space. We were equally inspired by the students’ energy and thoughtful questions, which reflected their keen interest in the intersection of policy, technology and governance. 🗣️ This is also what makes it so meaningful to engage our next generation and inspire action, as part of our journey to shape a future-ready Public Service and Singapore. Under our Public Sector Transformation movement, we're revolutionising how we deliver public services to citizens as One Public Service. ServiceSG is working across Government to integrate and organise services around citizens' key life moments and needs, and delivering them through a network of physical service centres, a central call centre and a digital platform (LifeSG). Today, ServiceSG has 9 centres islandwide where citizens can: ✅ Access close to 600 Government services and schemes from over 25 agencies under one roof; ✅ Walk in anytime—no appointment needed. The ServiceSG centres ensure that Government services remain accessible to all, including those who are less confident with digital services and require face-to-face assistance. The newest centres are in Woodlands and Bukit Merah, and next year a centre will be set up in Ang Mo Kio Hub too! This transformation in service delivery demonstrates how the public service is evolving to better support Singaporeans at every stage of life. We hosted the 9th Singapore-Australia Public Service Roundtable in Singapore this week, marking over a decade of fruitful collaboration 🇸🇬🤝🇦🇺✨. Led by our Head of the Civil Service Leo Yip and Australia's Secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Glyn Davis, we discussed global and domestic developments, how these impact public sector priorities, and capability building for our Public Services. The roundtable deepened ties between our public service leaders and sparked insights and ideas to tackle common challenges. 🌏💡 We look forward to more exchanges between our public sector leaders as we continue to enhance the cooperation between our two countries.
