✨ Hotel Nerd Alert ~ at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth ✨ The iconic Sofitel Sydney Wentworth has been reimagined following a stunning 🤩 $70 million transformation. A landmark of Sydney’s hospitality scene, the hotel has long been a destination unto itself, with an incredible history that has stories of royalty and celebrities 🤫. Moments from the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, luxury shopping precincts, and the Martin Place Metro station, the revitalized Sofitel Sydney Wentworth offers a new experience, where French art de vivre meets Sydney’s vibrant spirit. Thanks to Anthony Rumpel who got to listen to me say WOW! about eleventy billion times while taking me though the hotel. 🏨 Redesigned luxury accommodations - 436 gorgeous, freshly appointed rooms and suites, perfect for the corporate, leisure & bleisure traveller. My favourite part -🍽️ the new culinary experience across four distinctive dining venues, operated by House Made Hospitality, and I have to say I cannot wait to come back to try all of the outlets! Tilda – A relaxed yet elegant take on Australian cuisine; bar tilda – Nostalgic cocktails 🍸 and live music; Delta Rue – A vibrant fusion of Vietnamese & French flavors, which is also where you can find your #HotelsPlus Brekky; and finally, Wentworth Bar 🥂 – A spectacular rooftop-inspired terrace experience. Innovation is simply change that unlocks new value. For example (and in this video), using old plastic drink bottles, water, and a small amount of bleach to create affordable daylighting for homes and businesses in developing countries. The organisation Liter of Light "works with families, local cooperatives, volunteers, and partners to build simple solar reading lights, mobile charging systems, and streetlights using readily available materials." Beach destinations helping the Philippines Outpace Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Targeting China, US, South Korea, Japan, UK as Tourism Source Markets
Part 2 Credit to Travel & Tour World January 13, 2025 Here is How Philippines Outpacing Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam Targeting China, US, South Korea, Japan, UK as Tourism Source Market https://lnkd.in/gaUAEPAD Key factors contributing to the Philippines’ tourism growth include its globally recognized beaches, such as those in Boracay, Palawan, and Siargao. These destinations, renowned for their crystal-clear waters and powdery sands, have cemented the country’s reputation as a tropical haven. The Department of Tourism’s marketing initiatives, such as the “Love the Philippines” campaign, have effectively highlighted the country’s unique appeal, promoting exploration and sustainable tourism. The gradual return of key markets, especially South Korea and China, further signals a positive trajectory for the tourism sector. Despite the successes, challenges remain that hinder the Philippines’ ability to reach its full tourism potential. Infrastructure limitations, including inadequate transport networks and facilities in remote areas, pose accessibility issues. Additionally, fierce competition from neighboring countries with more developed tourism infrastructures and higher visitor capacities remains a significant hurdle. Economic factors, such as global inflation and fluctuating travel costs, also impact inbound tourism. Looking ahead, the Philippines aims to enhance its tourism offerings through several initiatives. Investments infrastructure are planned to improve connectivity to key tourist destinations. Efforts to promote sustainability and eco-tourism will help preserve the country’s natural resources while catering to environmentally conscious travelers. Additionally, expanding into emerging markets, particularly in Europe and the Middle East, could diversify its visitor base and reduce reliance on traditional markets. As the Philippines builds on its growing reputation, it remains poised to solidify its status as a premier destination for travelers seeking extraordinary beach experiences and rich cultural exploration. The title of Asia’s Leading Beach Destination is a testament to its unmatched beauty and potential in the global tourism landscape.
Some sustainability discussion here 👍😁
Sustainability DNA As I reflect on my recent visits to diverse regions across the globe, I am reminded of the common thread uniting so many communities and industries: a deep, unwavering commitment to sustainability. From innovative solutions crafted by talented individuals to partnerships guiding eco social -conscious choices, it’s clear that sustainability and ESG are not just initiatives—they must be at the very heart of what we do, embedded in our DNA. From achieving Certified B Corp status and carbon neutrality to pioneering plastic-free amenities and earning top certifications like EcoVadis, ISO, FSC, OEKO-TEX®, Green Key, Earth Check, and GOTS, the hospitality and related industries have built an impressive legacy of sustainability achievements. But there is so much more to do. Notably, a recent Booking.com survey revealed that 76% of travelers intend to travel more sustainably in the next 12 months. This reinforces a belief I’ve held for years: the future of hospitality lies in balancing exceptional, curated experiences with a commitment to environmental responsibility—all while supporting and uplifting local communities. Sustainability isn’t a trend or a box to tick; it’s the path forward. Here’s to building a more thoughtful, sustainable future in hospitality—one meaningful step at a time. 💪 With ESG as part of our culture especially the Social element that supports the community and makes the difference! It’s what we do for people and the passion in what we do that will be the powerful turning point for the industry! #Sustainability #ESG #Leadership #Innovation #Hospitality #recycling #upcycling #EcoTourism #SustainableTourism #PlasticFree #CarbonNeutral #BCorp #LeadingWithPurpose #EcoSocialArt #EcoSocialdesign #LaBottega #Palatino #Vanitygroup #Beltrami #Ecovadis #Greenkey #Earthcheck #
Great initiative BHA!
In the peaceful village of Sidemen, Karangasem, 22-year-old Made, born with a disability, had long faced daily struggles in a home that wasn’t designed for his needs. Narrow spaces, no wheelchair access, and poor sanitation made simple tasks a constant challenge for him and his family. As part of our 11th anniversary celebration, we decided to give back to the community. With the help of our esteemed leaders and dedicated team as well as the local leaders, we worked hand in hand to build Made and his family a new home—one that provides proper space, accessible sanitation, and wheelchair access. Brick by brick, stone by stone, we created a space where Made could finally live with dignity and freedom. Our wish for this anniversary is to not only make our guests feel at home but to also ensure that those under the care of the Annika Linden Centre, like Made, can feel more comfortable and supported in their own homes. To all our guests, partners, and the community—thank you for being a part of our journey. Here's to a brighter, better tomorrow! And once again, happy anniversary to our incredible ambassadors! #SailIntoSofitelat11 #WhereSoulsAlight #AccorSolidarityWeek #SofitelBaliNusaDuaBeachResort Maud Bailly SYLWIA Pawelczyk-MASLUK Tom Meyer Jean-Pierre J.
