REDEX Founder and CEO Jen Wee KANG was invited to contribute his expertise at the ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility (ACGF) Innovative Finance Clinic: Greening Data Centers in Southeast Asia workshop held from 17th to 18th October 2024 in #Singapore.    During the panel discussion titled “Sustainable Energy for Data Centers – Approaches to Renewable Energy Sourcing”, Jen Wee shared insights on advancing the adoption of #renewable #energy and the role of Renewable Energy Certificates (#RECs) in supporting the #decarbonisation of data centers. He also participated in an insightful discussion on the topic with other esteemed panelists including:    - Dieter Billen, Partner, Roland Berger  - Len George, Principal Energy Specialist, ADB  - Khan Yow, Managing Director Seraya Partners  - Katherine Guy, Senior Infrastructure Finance Specialist, ADB    The ACGF is an ASEAN Infrastructure Fund initiative supporting governments in Southeast Asia to prepare and finance infrastructure projects that promote environmental sustainability and contribute to climate change goals. Today marks the 79th anniversary of the creation of the United Nations.   Coming into force on 24 October 1945, the Charter of the United Nations (UN) established the goals, structure and framework of the UN system, birthing the UN. Comprising 111 articles grouped into 19 chapters, the Charter lays the foundation for the world’s foremost multilateral organisation to resolve humanity’s greatest challenges including economic, environmental and social #sustainability.   To tackle these global challenges which have grown in scale and complexity over the past decades, UN member states adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Central to the Agenda are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs). The SDGs call on all countries to collaborate to develop strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality and offer new economic opportunities, without compromising on environmental issues.   To support the SDGs, REDEX developed Impact RECs and Impact Marketplace. Impact RECs support the building of climate resilient and sustainable communities through infrastructure development, and improvements to health, education and economic opportunities, aligning with SDGs 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, and 13.   In addition, global collaboration across various stakeholder groups – governments, non-governmental organisations, businesses and people – is essential to achieving the SDGs. As a member of the United Nations Global Compact, REDEX is grateful to be part of a movement that strives to be advance the global collective impact of businesses and support the Sustainable Development Goals.     Thank you United Nations for making a positive difference to the world for past, present and future generations.   Congratulations on turning 79. #sustainabledevelopment

📣 We are pleased to share that REDEX and ASUENE Inc. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together to explore innovation opportunities in the decarbonisation ecosystem. The collaboration will enable both organisations to enhance their value-add to clients and potentially offer through-train solutions, resolving pain points experienced by companies when embarking on their #sustainability journey. 💪   In general, an organisation may utilise several different platforms to execute its various decarbonisation initiatives. These platforms may not be integrated with each other and extensive resources are required to bridge data gaps between them. REDEX and Asuene will collaborate to enable a seamless user experience for clients on our platforms, reducing the man hours required to report and verify decarbonisation claims.   REDEX is excited to join forces with Asuene.
