About us
The Aquaculture Roundtable Series® (TARS) initiated in 2011 is a stakeholder-driven effort to facilitate the sharing and exchange of information and experiences for a common goal, to equip the industry with the next phase of growth. It is a platform for all – public, private sector, academia, government and non-government organizations to share new knowledge, deliberate on critical issues, and identify strategies for improvement – to ensure a sustainable aquaculture industry for the next generation. TARS is designed as a series of roundtable sessions to focus on specific sectors of the industry. Over the past 11 years, TARS covered the following sectors: Aquafeeds in 2011, 2015, 2019 and 2022 Shrimp Aquaculture in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2021 and 2023 Finfish Aquaculture in 2013 & 2017 TARS 2024 focuses on Finfish Aquaculture: Steering an Industry into Focus.

𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴! This year’s theme, "Finfish Aquaculture: Steering an Industry into Focus” attracted 210 participants from 25 countries. The meeting was held on August 14-15, 2024 in Bangkok. Deputy Director-General, Thailand’s Department of Fisheries, Mr Praphan Leepayakun delivered the opening address, followed by industry-focused presentations by an international group of experts. This year, TARS hosted 3 industry dialogues that delved into: Industry challenges = startup opportunities = venture capital investments; a global exchange on marketing, branding and sustainability with Asia’s business leaders, and a technology showcase by fish entrepreneurs/farmers from Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Also on the agenda, the highlight of the TARS series, i.e. The Interactive Breakout Roundtables that focused on Tilapia, Pangasius and Mass Market Marine Fish. This session proved to be a very constructive and lively session with contributions from all the participants. As we always say: AT TARS – EVERYONE HAS A VOICE!
