About us
Established in 1993, Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu-Chi Foundation (Singapore) is an accredited Institution of Public Character (IPC). For the past over two decades, the Foundation has been actively contributing to society in the areas of charity, medical aid, education, humanistic culture, and environmental protection. We bridge and connect volunteers with those who need help; and in the process, we work out ways to help those who fall through society's safety net. Our work is manpower-intensive, but fortunately, we have an army of dedicated volunteers who generously devote their valuable time to help and care for the needy and underprivileged. MOU TO ELEVATE VOLUNTEERISM, MUTUAL LEARNING AND COMMUNITY On 6 March 2025 at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Tzu-Chi Foundation (Singapore) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and Yishun Community Hospital (KTPH&YCH). The MOU aims to promote volunteerism, strengthen community initiatives and facilitate knowledge exchange between two organisations, which share the values of compassion and service excellence. The parties were represented by CEO of KTPH&YCH Professor Chua Hong Choon and CEO of Tzu Chi Mr Low Swee Seh. Tzu Chi will mobilise its volunteers to support the two hospitals’ patient care activities such as befriending and assisting patients with daily tasks. The volunteers will receive training so they can carry out their roles safely within a hospital environment. The parties will also participate in an exchange of expertise to advance Singapore’s healthcare services, patient care practices and environmental sustainability through learning visits as well as joint workshops and seminars. What’s more, they will explore how traditional Chinese and modern Western medicine can complement each other to support better patient recovery. Chua🧓: I am first to arrive at work and the last to leave. The weight loss was a success, I used to weigh 86 kg, now I weigh 68 kg. Tan👵: My daughter asked me to come. I haven't been out much since I came here. Koh👵: I’ve never been close to people or communicated much with people. It's better to be here, I'm a bit more talkative now. Isn't it amazing to see so much positive changes? These three elders, with an average age of 78, are regular visitors to SEEN@Bukit Batok. How do they enjoy the facilities and activities of the centre while also contribute in their own ways? #TzuChiFoundationSG #Documentary #BukitBatok #Nanyang #ActiveAging #MedicalMission

What is your ideal retirement life? Many people believe that after being busy for most of their lives, retirement should be a time to rest. However, this often leads to a life of eating, sleeping, and waiting for time to pass. #TzuChiFoundationSG #Documentary #BukitBatok #Nanyang #ActiveAging #MedicalMission

Each Lunar New Year, teachers and students from Great Love Preschool in Yishun, Toa Payoh, and Sengkang visit local neighbourhoods and nursing homes to extend their festive well wishes to the elderly. This year, however, due to the frail health of the elderly residents, in-person visits were not possible, as they needed rest and recuperation. In response, the five- and six-year-old students, under their teachers' guidance, organised an exhibition showcasing their handmade crafts and held a charity sale. The proceeds from the sale were used to purchase essential items for elderly individuals in need. While the children could not be there in person, their heartfelt care and generosity were deeply felt. #TzuChiFoundationSG #VideoNews #EducationMission #Yishun #Sengkang #ToaPayoh #Preschool
