On March 14, Tzu Chi Boston - Cambridge Outreach Center hosted an inspiring discussion on gender equality, featuring Sio Kee Hong and Cecelia Ong, two dedicated volunteers actively involved in restoring the Buddha’s 📿 homeland. Sio highlighted the empowerment of women and poverty reduction efforts in Bodhgaya, India. Guided by Master Cheng Yen’s threefold approach—providing a safe place to live, peace of mind, and a stable life, he shared powerful stories and images showcasing the transformation of daily life for local communities. 🙌 One of the most moving moments was witnessing young girls from India perform sign language, a heartfelt expression of resilience and hope. Cecelia reflected on her journey with Tzu Chi, emphasizing the importance of planting seeds of dedication to create lasting impact. She also introduced Tzu Chi’s vocational training program for women in Nepal, which provides skills and opportunities to foster self-reliance. 💪 Through storytelling 📖 and lived experiences, this session reinforced that achieving gender equality requires compassion, action, and long-term commitment. Together, we can continue to uplift and empower women across the world.
