The self-storage space is playing an increasingly significant role in retail - as seen in how more businesses are opting for additional storage spaces at Work+Store to cope with growing inventory ahead of the year-end sales season. With 11/11 drawing near, we had Work+Store CEO Danny Wong go on air to speak with Cheryl Goh and Wui Lynn Chew on CNA938 Work It to share about the company's vision of the evolution of storage spaces in the retail industry - including value-added facilitates to ensuring businesses’ operational efficiency. We had the chance to sit down with Yinren Peh, Head of Global Accounts for AMA, TikTok and Thuymi Do, Head of Digital & Public Relations, Asia, Campari Group last week at PRovoke Media's Asia Pacific Summit to discuss how brands can navigate new platforms and formats when marketing to Gen Zs. Here, we share some of our favourite takeaways from the panel: 💡 "Brands that have succeeded on TikTok are those who have managed to bridge their heritage, what the brand inherently stands for, with how it can be expressed with Gen Zs." Also relevant for any new platforms or future generations of audiences! 💡 "Consumers are so bombarded with ads that brands need to find a new way to touch consumers. Gen Zs in particular, are known to hate ads in spite of how much content they consume, and they don't like when they are being pushed products. This means brands need to change their strategies to be where they are, be convenient for them, instead of pushing them." 💡 For brands that aren't on TikTok or face certain advertising restrictions, consider your organic content strategy instead. Campari's Aperol for instance, is famous for being part of a "perfect serve" of just one drink, an Aperol Spritz. With Gen Zs and consumers creating so much organic content around the cocktail, TikTok has become an important platform for the brand to drive offline conversations and experiences in hopes of encouraging even more user generated content. 💡 "Brands that are doing well are those who have a really clear idea of why they are going after Gen Z." Are you targeting Gen Zs because they will be the largest demographic for your brand in future? Because they set trends and create culture for the other generations? Defining your why will offer a clearer direction on how your brand can market to this generation of consumers. Keen to know how you can market to Gen Z? Drop us a message or email at hello@wcommunications.sg to chat!

We wrapped up July working with VP Bank Asia on its 2H Market Outlook event in Singapore and Hong Kong earlier this month - with valuable insights shared onsite by Dr. Felix Brill, Group CIO and Thomas Rupf, CFA, FRM, CAIA, CIO Asia, on how investors should embrace uncertainties amid current market volatilities. Adding his expert views on geopolitics was also Bilahari Kausikan, Former Permanent Secretary and Ambassador-at-Large, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Singapore. Immensely grateful for the attendance of key media including Ivy Chok of Bloomberg, Clarence Leong from The Wall Street Journal/Dow Jones, Ankur B. from Reuters/Reuters News Agency, Colin R Tan of The Straits Times, Roshan Gidwani from MONEY FM 89.3, and Audrey Raj of Asian Private Banker.
Will geopolitical risks have a negative impact on markets? What market movements can investors expect in the future and how will this affect portfolios? How then can portfolios be constructed to effectively mitigate market volatilities? These were all answered at our 2H2024 Market Outlook events last week held in both Singapore and Hong Kong, aptly titled ‘Shifting Shadows: Embracing Uncertainty’. The insightful sessions saw Dr. Felix Brill, Group CIO and Thomas Rupf, CFA, FRM, CAIA, CIO Asia share their insights on the investment landscape ahead. This season's events also featured guest speakers, geopolitical expert and veteran diplomat, Bilahari Kausikan, Former Permanent Secretary and Ambassador-at-Large, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Singapore and Chairman of the Middle East Institute - NUS and Edward Ho, Head of Asia at Leonteq. During the Q&A segments, we also received a wide range of questions that fittingly reflected the pertinent concerns at the top of the minds of our investors. Thanks to the active participation and engagement of our attendees, the events were a tremendous success. We hope that everyone who attended the events found the sharing enlightening!

Co-living is here to stay, buoyed by strong demand thanks to high rental prices and the want for independent living among the younger generation. Working with Singapore's leading Chinese newspaper, Lianhe Zaobao (联合早报), we deep dived into the driving factors behind this phenomenon, featuring Coliwoo Singapore, a subsidiary under LHN Limited and their member profiles who shared more about this alternative accommodation concept.

Despite the STI gaining around 8% since start of the year, analysts are still taking a guarded approach towards 2H'24 due to various uncertainties. Contributing to this outlook piece on The Straits Times, we had Dr. Felix Brill, Chief Investment Officer, VP Bank Asia (VP Bank AG) share more on taking a long-term view when investing – focusing on time in the market rather than timing the market.
Analysts, economists take guardedly hopeful stance for second half of 2024

All in a day's work for our team in Singapore.
Kenneth Chew from W Communications - Singapore brought Glenn Gore from Affinidi to the MONEY FM 89.3 studio for an interview with myself and Hongbin Jeong and we found out that the best way to keep thriving is to “eat,sleep,build,repeat”- what’s that? A CEO’s Mantra! What else did we discuss? Have a listen for yourself! https://lnkd.in/gSCdwfs5
