The opportunity
As a Solar Sales Engineer, you will support our Commercial & Industrial (C&I) business development and project management activities in Singapore and Malaysia. You will be instrumental in helping us build up our C&I revenues and grow the overall business across the region. With this, you will develop both your business development acumen, as well as your solar engineering and project management abilities.
What you’ll be responsible for
Business Development
- Help manage the regional pipeline of leads and projects
- Support on all C&I activities in Singapore and Malaysia, including proposal preparation, sales follow-ups, site surveys, and gathering all relevant documentation
- Build up procurement channels and sub-contractor network in Malaysia
- Help manage relationships with various equipment vendors, contractors, and third-party engineering firms
Solar Project Management
- Support on project management and smooth execution for C&I projects - from planning, to construction, to commissioning
- Develop and streamline operating procedures for solar engineering and project management
- Conduct on-site visits and feasibility studies to optimise efficiency and costs for rooftop solar PV systems
- Design rooftop solar PV systems and stringing, using tools like AutoCAD or simulation software like OpenSolar
- Assist on project management, scheduling, and coordinating with sub-contractors
- Drive Operations and Maintenance (O&M) on C&I projects to ensure minimal down-time and minimise O&M costs incurred
Who we’re looking for
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in rooftop solar project management
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or related fields
- Good knowledge in electrical design concepts and solar project engineering
- Experience with solar PV simulation software like OpenSolar
- Great communication skills, good command of English, confident with phone and email inquiries in both written and verbal aspect
- Organised and able to work independently with strong project management skills
- Highly motivated and results driven; able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong team player, skilled in collaborating on cross-functional teams, and open to feedback.
