Since 2018, many states across the country have been legalizing online sports betting at their own pace. In May 2022, Kansas decided it was its time to shine and Governor Laura Kelly signed a bill legalized both in-person and retail betting into law.
The Kansas Lottery and State Gaming Commission then acted swiftly and had rules and regulations in place in time for a September 1st soft launch with a full launch to follow on September 8th. Kansas was the second-fastest state to go from signing the law to actually launching, trailing behind only Iowa.
In any case, bettors in Kansas will surely be glad that they'll be able to bet on games during the entire NFL and college football seasons.

- 8/12/2022 - The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission approved the regulations for sports betting to go live in the state, paving the way for a launch before the NFL season.
