The Indian men’s team triumphed over top-seeded USA with a 2.5-1.5 victory in the 10th round of the 2024 Chess Olympiad on Saturday at the SYMA Sports and Conference Centre in Budapest, Hungary.
Meanwhile, the women’s team returned to form, defeating China by the same scoreline, 2.5-1.5. With 19 match points from 10 rounds, the Indian men lead the standings, holding a better tiebreak than second-placed China, which has 17 points.
In the women’s section, India shares the lead with Kazakhstan, both teams sitting at 17 points. As the final round approaches, the Indian men will face Slovenia, while the women take on Azerbaijan.
