Gwent is hands down my favorite card game ever, and I've tried quite a few of them

It boasts a gorgeous art style and a rich universe to draw upon. Complete with voice acting & sound effects for every card and ability. Also all cards have an alternate, stunning animated version. And some cards even have multiple transformations and different "stages" inside, all of which are beautifully animated too

It constantly showers you with rewards, and there's tons of content to unlock. Multiple game modes to play, generous free battle-passes

There's 6 factions to play and master, each with an overwhelming amount of cards and possible deck builds. Also leader abilities that you can creatively combine with all your cards. Beautiful battle-fields and even alternate leader models & skins. Memorable per faction music, adapting on the fly, depending on round or point advantage

Addicting gameplay, huge variety of cards and builds, you get a ton of rewards just for playing, even if you lose. Sometimes even spending in-game currency awarded you more in-game currency, it was so fun. The deckbuilding itself is immensely satisfying. You can straight up craft any card you want, no need to wait for it to drop

I played it for around 2000 hours, a lot of it being on GoG before it came to Steam. I collected all the cards and have enough resources to craft anything I want and then some. I reached the highest rank possible and even played with a bunch of Twitch streamers. It's honestly extremely hard to think of anything I don't like about Gwent

I suppose it can be a bit overwhelming for a new player, since the original legacy Gwent came out almost 10 years ago. And it's been reworked several times, while constantly adding hundreds upon hundreds of new cards into the game. All the keywords and factions and leaders and resource management can appear a bit daunting at first. But it all becomes really simple once you spend a few sessions playing it!

Sadly, the developers decided to stop updating the game last year. Leaving it in the hands of the community instead. Which is not the end of Gwent of course, but it's a bit disappointing that they would just give up on the most amazing card game on the market like that

I think I am partly to blame for it. Because in my 2000 hours of play time, I haven't bought a single cosmetic or bundle or card pack. I earned everything I needed completely for free and I never even visited the shop. The game was so generous with its rewards and it was so easy to earn everything the players wanted - that it became financially unsuccessful for CDPR. They put the consumers first, in the process created the most spectacular and adored card game in the world. And that might have been what caused them to abandon it in the end

Lots of great memories, amazing community events and managers, incredibly consumer friendly practices and overall some of the finest gaming experiences you can have as a gamer

Don't really know what I'm doing yet, but the fun potential is definitely there!

The syndicate faction has become very weak. The game is dying due to lack of balance. certain archetypes simply do not provide room for creating other decks and playing on these decks is not competitive, saving variety in the syndicate is killed! The syndicate is very weak! in comparison with other factions, that is, a bunch of cards and assemblies are simply not playable and not competitive

Unless you buy the solo expansion do NOT buy this game. It would be much better if you could fine tune your deck but you cant Dont buy this until they fix this

Didn't like it, it looks similar to the game in witcher but it really isn't the same game at all.
The units don't even attack etc and several layers of the strategy have just been removed altogether for no apparent reason.
Good that its free to play or I'd feel ripped off, as it stands I just feel misled.

Gwent is one of the best card games I've ever played. Its unique mechanics, deep strategy, and lack of pay-to-win elements make every match exciting and rewarding. The art and lore, inspired by The Witcher universe, add an extra layer of immersion. Whether you're a casual player or a competitive strategist, Gwent offers an engaging and balanced experience. Highly recommended!

Beautiful game with intricate mechanics. Intricate. Not fun. This game plays more like a game of chess than your average card game, Luck is a near non-existent factor here. Cards are immaculately balanced to a T and it is entirely up to you and the deck you've spent 10 hours prototyping to maneuver your way through the matches. Victories feel like genuine triumphs while defeats are soul-crushing leaving you to try and figure out what went wrong. This game is stressful and extremely competitive - you are even assigned an elo rating just like chess. Intimidated? Good. Only the perilous path is worth travelling. The game is very generous with card distribution for new players and DID I MENTION HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS GAME IS? Every single card feels like they belong in an art gallery, not to mention that all the cards can be cosmetically upgraded to have a fully animated sprite. Join us. Suffer. Endure. Grow.
