this game was tiring to play

All work and no play makes you boring and stupid. As they say.

Perhaps I was more nervous about the idea of visual novels, rather than actually not being interested in them. As I play more of them, I catch myself enjoying them most of the time, realizing that my apprehension was unwarranted. While it is undoubtedly a different kind of experience, it still can be engaging in ways, that are still so unique to video games.

"Endless Monday: Dreams and Deadlines" is a story that is relatable, in ways, that I wasn't prepared for. Of course, being focused on work life, is something that is easy to relate to, as we all go through phases of procrastination and wanting to do anything but work. But what made me feel even more connected was the artist angle. As an artist myself, I was able to put myself in some of the characters and understand them in very personal ways. The story is also surprisingly topical, and deals with issues that artists have to deal with in recent time.

This is not to say, that this is a serious story, by any means. It's lighthearted in its tone, has quirky characters, fun dialogue and some unexpected turns. All this, combined with the message that it has under its surface, turns this into a weird but engaging adventure, that I had a lot of fun with. Recommended!
