There were also problems with saving and loading after u restart computer, but I never tried steam version of it. If tehre will be a problem try to run it on one core of ur procesor.

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start "" /affinity 01 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Hard Truck Apocalypse\hta.exe"

This is what i did with shortcut to it. If there will be a problem you shoyld try to py this before ur target box.

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start "" /affinity 01

Needs a widescreen option (I use 1600 x 900) but otherwise cool.

It states that it runs on Win 7. It doesn't say you need to play amateur hacker in order for it to do so. Some of us expect a product to perform as specified when purchased. That used to be a big selling point for me with Steam, you were fairly confident you weren't going to get ripped off. Now I always check the forums even if it says my rig should run it and if anyone seems to be having problems I avoid the purchase.

"some of us" and "used to be" being the key expressions here

Steam is letting everything through with very little quality check

PC Gaming has always required a bit of tinkering to be able to play games. One of the reasons is quality control varies from company to company but the bigger issue is that hardware isn't standardized. It's not like consoles where they know exactly what the hardware will be on every system. With PCs there are millions of potential combinations of equipment with variations for individual manufacturers, different OS, further complicated by potential conflicting software and settings on the individual system. The really annoying part is that the biggest hardships are had by those who don't understand computers well because they are likely to compound issues by changing things they don't understand in an effort to "fix" it.

I wish it wasn't that way, as a developer it keeps me awake at night knowing that a percentage of people that try to play my games won't be able to and my product will be judged for it.

To help out with this game you can fix everything in just 2 minutes, both fixes at once.

Go to computer/local disc (C:)/Program Files(x86)/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Hard Truck Apocalypse/data

Then to fix the resolution open the config file. Use Control-F to open the find box. Type in R_Height and click the next box to highlight the code. Change the number to you desktop resolution, most common being 1080, but double check. Next in the search box enter r_width and enter the other resolution value, probably 1920. Now save that config file in the top left corner and close it.

Now open the folder labeled Video. Delete all of these files. Now close out of all of this and relaunch the game.

Good luck in the future.

This company needs to just remarket the game, and remove Windows 7 as a viable platform. People should not be forced to edit ini files, or delete files ( that Steam may just re-validate back in later) to get a game to run. For most the fix may be easy, but I would ask STEAM, if that is what they want from publishers selling good or bad games to their users.

If I were STEAM, I'd be enforcing some key rules about truth in product labeling.

work flawlessly on win 7 for me.

I edited the file and have to load saves into a new game, but that are little flaws compared to the joy of finally getting a better and faster truck on impossible :D
