Hello Cleaners!

Next week we'll be participating in Steam Next Fest, an opportunity for more folks to get in and try out the demo of Backrooms Cleanup Crew! We've had so many folks in and having fun in the demo already, we hope all the newcomers have a blast!

In preparation for Steam Next Fest, we've got a new update to the Demo version of the game.

We made many improvements to the game while a player is experiencing high ping. For most players these issues would have always been minor, but for players playing with friends across oceans or other high-ping scenarios these changes are major improvements:

• Improved responsiveness when sprinting, crouching or uncrouching for non-server, lagging players
  
• Improved responsiveness when picking up, throwing and binning objects for non-server, lagging players
  
• Improved control when prop surfing for non-server, lagging players
  
• Fixed rare cases where players could be holding a small item, but their UI not reflect it leading to a stuck state
  
• Added an option to show current ping

Other improvements to this build include:

• All thrown objects, small and large, have a suite of new sounds when bouncing off walls, each other, players or carpets.
  
• New Backrooms buzzing lights sounds
  
• Added throwable paint buckets to the lobby and 01 Rooms
  
• Improved the collision bounds on several objects, particularly those with cavities
  
• Successfully portaling items using a defeated object portal will no longer leave nearby items hanging mid-air
  
• Ragdolls are now more performant

And of course, many bug fixes including:

• Fix for full-screen menus not working properly with 4:3 aspect ratio resolutions
  
• Fix for Radio audio not correctly switching in certain areas for non-server players
  
• Fix for infrequent absence of success "boop" sound when cleaning a surface
  
• Fix for some inconsistencies between heavy object weight between levels
