Forced TAA

TAA (also referred to as TXAA) stands for Temporal Anti-Aliasing and is used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of jagged edges using a spatial anti-aliasing technique.

This group was created solely to take advantage of the Curator system, whereby it is possible to collate a list of games that have forced TAA implemented. This is in addition to highlighting whether or not a workaround is available.

TAA itself has been singled out due to its blurring and ghosting effect compared to other anti-aliasing methods, as well as its tendency to be forced in some newer notable releases, as it seems to be used to fix issues or shortfalls in modern rendering techniques.

The focus of what is curated has expanded somewhat since the group's inception to adapt to changing trends, to now cover temporal methods as a whole, which includes Unreal Engine 5's TSR. In addition, since some upscaling methods may be used either in conjunction or in replacement of temporal anti-aliasing, they're covered too. Read more

The primary advocacy of this group is for these temporal methods not to be forced, as they destroy detail in motion and especially at resolutions lower than 4K, so the strict focus remains around when these techniques are forced with no option to disable.
