What we have so far is really good, it’s hard to describe how much better building ships is with all the new tools and the unified 25 cm grid system. Obviously it’s early access and more will be coming later but what we have so far is very promising, and the teases of what is coming later are very, very, very exciting! I know early access is a difficult thing for people to understand so please keep in mind this: The game is not complete yet, it is not a replacement for SE1 yet, you do not have to buy this game yet. Buy it if you wanna check out the cool new stuff, not if you want to move onto a new game.
If you’re interested in a more complete experience, Space Engineers 1 still exists and the developers are still updating it. SE2 is for people who want to check out what the developers are working on, it’s not currently a replacement for the first game. Feel free to come back in a few months when survival’s vertical slice is released and check that out. Or wait until multiplayer, or even it’s released from early access. You are the master of your own wallet.
