tl:dr - Great game that is clearly unfinished. several bugs that impede gameplay and multiplayer campaigns. Yet great fun and great to play, even if it needs maybe another year of work.

Been playing this game for a few hours now, and I have to disagree with the majority of the reviews here. A lot of them are complaining about poor optimization and low performance on high end PCs, however while this may still be the case, in my experience with settings on high and ultra unit size, this has not been the case, with averaging about 40-60 fps on a 1080.

As for gameplay the play itself is good, some factions significantly more difficult to play than others, but generally well balanced and is a good stepping stone into what im sure will become a great game.

There are some bugs to be aware of however, Im not sure the multiplayer aspect is ready yet, with infrequent crashes that frustrate us and auto resolve still not being fixed, there are clearly improvements that need to be made. Another fun bug I encountered was if you have your advisor set to low or minimal, you are actually unable to start turn 1 as it requires you to 'close advisor help' before you can start, yet no advisor help is visible on the screen

All in all this is a great game that adds a variety of unique mechanics that will eat hundreds of hours of my time im sure. Would recommend if you own TWWH2.
