My history with the RE saga is complicated. I traditionally hated the first game as it got the credit for doing the same thing Alone in the Dark did a few years before (with way worse presentation, true) so it took me a lot to get to the saga. Then I loved RE4, I did not click with 5 or 6 as everyone else and I started gathering them on my backlog until one day I decided to play 7.

Well, this is the scariest game I have ever played. Of course, in my opinion and all that, but the thing is that it feels so... physical. It gets everything that horror was about in the 00s (the body horror, the torture horror) with other modern nods (found footage) and classic nods (The Hill Have Eyes, Chainsaw Massacre and all other Evil Cannibal Family stories) plus taking bits that worked really well from survival horror games that tried a different approach like Amnesia/Penumbra. And all of this, summed? Works marvels. It feels violent, claustrophobic, anxiety inducing, and the presentation of it all is wonderful.

Incredible game.
