Where do I begin, there's so much to say about this game. I may as well state that I am one of the veteran players of this game, been playing this game in the early beta stages and have seen a lot of progress. A lot of progress indeed. A lot of players like me would probably look back when the uniforms were low res and any explosives did zero damage and say "ahh those were the good days". I've had this game for two years and I plan to keep it.

This game as I said, has been through so many changes. New beligerants to the war and new regiments. Chemical warfare and an accurate suppression system that throws off your aim. Also, time accurate weaponry, along with the amount of usage of these guns. It's not Battlefield 1 where everyone is running around with a machine gun. There's few machine guns but mostly bolt action rifles, just like the real war. Plus the tactics used to play the game and win are just as accurate. Certain regiments play certain roles such as reconnisance or offensive regiments or defensive. Fire support and support in general is just as accurate. No "killstreak" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, they can only be called in by your regiments NCO who leads your squad, and it's all timer based so use wisely. You also don't get many MLG dumbasses in the game, so that's also a perk. I mean, I am not saying there isn't any period, there are some but not as many like in COD. The community for the most part is mature, you are going to come across some rude or obnoxious people which is expected. In all of my two years I have only seen one person exploit hacks into the game and they have been permanently banned from the game I believe. Plus that was way back in beta days. So hackers are not an issue at all. The game CAN get laggy. Just adjust the graphics settings to where it runs the smoothest and you should be alright. This is also a game that is best played with friends too, so either make friends or play with friends who currently own the game. Playing with friends builds team xp and can provide your squad with better perks and support.

That's my review of it, and I hope it can influence you to buy this good game. If possible, go ahead and watch gameplay videos

Also, if Zab happens to be on the enemy team, just quit because he WILL kick your @$$. That's my other piece of advice, don't play when he's on.

If you do end up liking this game, I highly recommend purchasing Tannenberg. You won't be disappointed.

EDIT December 13th 2018: A big update was released, doubling the size of the teams and filling empty slots with AI bots. I see myself playing more of Verdun in the future. You can now prestige if you hit level 100, adding more replay value. They’re still adding new regiments and units, the devs listen and care.

@EllaSo You're talking to an amateur-historian here. A civil war, and an ex WWII reenactor. I take this passion of history seriously. From that I say, over 8 years later, I still recommend this game. I'd still check out Isonzo, that's very fun.
