is a very unique game in his genre and a superb experience. It's a game that follows the Visual Novel format, but has a special feeling attach to it. You follow the story of Jill, who is a bartender in a bar named Vallhalla and localised in the VA-11 HALL-A of glitch city, a not so safe city in a futuristic world.

Gameplay : In terms of gameplay, VA-11 HALL-A doesn't have much to offer, it is still a VN so it's understandable, but it has some gameplay : you are a bartender so you mix drink (and change lives). You will have to make drinks based on simple orders, your host's mood or other enigmatic orders. You also have to learn customers' habits as some will just say "the usual". Nothing hard though and making the drink itself is very easy as the instruction are very clear and you do not have a time limit. Yet I find this little element of gameplay very interesting, because you influence and trigger some discussion by serving some drinks. And that made me feel, at some point, like I was also in the bar, with them and talking, it sounds silly but after one or two hours of gameplay I had to make a drink for myself and I found it very weird as I don't usually drink alchohol alone. I enjoyed it a lot (still do not drink too much, not good for health)

Art : It is very well done, every character design is well done and the work on the different sprites and animations for each feeling of each character are very good. While you only see your bar and your house as a background, it doesn't matter much because the variety of character design helps you understand what is happening in Glitch city and that is already a feat.

Musics and sounds : The music is overall very good and has good variety, I first found it silly that you have to pick yourself which song to play in the playlist of the jukebox as VN usually adapt the music to the situation but in the end, it was a good choice to do so : You choosing the playlist reinforce the idea that you are in a bar. No matter what hardship or complex situation the customer is telling you, the music don't change and it doesn't have to because the situation never change, you are in a bar, talking with your customer.

Story : The story itself is well put, you will have your fair share of feelings. While Jill mostly don't experience any event directly, the feeling of experiencing the events of Glich city through Jill's customer's tales is special, to say the least, it is unique and very cosy. Every character is really good, you will met almost everything imaginable, from the (almost) intelligent talking corgis to the overexcited loli 13 years old looking sex worker robot.

99/100 I loved this game to the core, it is not something that you should miss because there is nothing like this game. It is heartwarming, funny and still can be serious and have interesting subjects.
