It may sound silly, but this is one of the most compelling games I've played in the past several years. It's fun, it's gorgeous, it's engaging and it's very well made, with an active community and a proactive developer who continuously patches the thing. This is the game that finally convinced me to get a 360 gamepad, and that alone was worth it, but the game itself is just fun, and relaxing too. One of my favorite moments was driving through Germany listening to a French radio station when "Blame it on the Boogie" by the Jackson 5 came on. I'd never heard the song before, but loved it, and the mix of that song, the open road and the lovely graphics were just incredible. Totally worth your time, this game is.
