Let's start with the bad: Hunt is not without flaws - steep learning curve, Server lags and quite the hunger for hardware (barely scratching 80 FPS on a GTX1080) this game is hard to get into. Thankfully the devs are dedicated to optimize and balance this gem way after the 1.0 release. Most patches to this date have been improving the gameplay and received largely positive by the community.

It also shows that the devs play their own game, staying in close touch with what people want to see in Hunt - even if not at the speed that people desire. Content like the latest (first) Halloween event wasn't without flaws, but surprising. The developers show that they care for more than just making a quick buck, always granting you a lot of free content just for playing.

Be warned that Hunt is not simple to get into. There are a few modes and mechanics to ease you into the learning process, but the PVP remains unforgiving. Give this game a few matches to shine, preferrably with one friend and you'll soo see its charm.

And BOY, once you get into the loop you will realize that this game is one of the most original FPS in recent years. The PVPVE on the huge maps is well-developed and smartly designed, making every match a unique experience. There will be tons of "battle stories" to share with friends as almost every match unfolds differently.

This also depends on the many variables at play here: depending if you play alone or in teams of up to three players the experience completely changes, as death can be instant if you don't play stealthy and smart. With companions to revive you again the tactics of Hunt change greatly, allowing you to use pincer tactics and giving more relevance to tools of distraction and deceit.

Weapons and combat feel meaty and one-of-a-kind thanks to a diverse arsenal of old "classical" rifles and guns that take long to reload but feel satisfying to shoot and hit with. This game is not COD - you have to pick your shots carefully and make every bullet count, as you make noise with EVERY action. And keep in mind: the SOUND of weapons and environment is not just there for presentation, but also vital part of gameplay and strategy. Other players hear your steps, lie in wait or use the noise to start a distraction or wait for you if they hear you coming a mile away.

When Hunt works its charm it generates a blood pressure like no other game. Adrenaline and frustration make way for endless satisfaction when you nail a few good shots and make it out alive with the bounty and a few more kills under your belt. Hunt takes practice and patience to get good at, but the rewards after a success feel unmatched to any other multiplayer game I've played in years.
