I'm not a Souls-type fan at all, but I was so captivated by Blasphemous's art style that I wanted to give it a chance by all means, even more since it's a metroidvania game.
In terms of art, music and lore, it's a masterpiece, I got captivated instantly.
In terms of gameplay, however, I raged a lot (something I do in general so I don't know if that counts as a point).
The maps were excruciatingly annoying and punishing (especially the spikes), but the one thing I'm gonna specifically point out is the side quests, which felt like stepping on mines.
The slightest mistake at a quest's line and it's locked forever, so go start a new game!
(Which is good, if you wanna farm all the endings + DLC content)
The whole thing got me tired during my first playthrough, since I started playing without watching any guides, only to see that I need to start over after getting one of the endings.
But in the end, it's maybe just me who's weird, who knows.
Overall, it's a wonderful, beautiful, extraordinary game which I had fun with, definitely worth a shot especially if you like playing at a certain difficulty.
