Fantastic software. I used Cinema 4D casually for years, and while I had tried earlier versions of Blender, I couldn't immediately figure out how to use them, so I kept giving up immediately. With the release of 2.8 I had heard a lot of great things about the redesigned UI and general QoL and noob-friendly improvements, but never actually gave it a try. Eventually, about a month ago, my friend starting working in Blender and I decided to join him and learn it along with him. This made the process not only easy, but extremely fun. Once you learn the basic differences between this and other software (where everything you want to do is represented graphically like C4D) I've been able to pick up on the more advanced stuff very quickly. I stopped using C4D cold turkey and started playing with Blender nearly every day, and I'm glad I did.

I actually use daily builds of the upcoming version (2.81 right now) but I continue to launch it through Steam so it tracks my playtime, just for fun. Believe it or not, nearly all of the playtime is me actually "playing" Blender, and not just rendering stuff. When I need to render stuff that will take a long time, I'll try to remember to launch it outside of Steam so it's not counted.
