Initial review was Not Recommended due to account suspension. But it was resolved, and since then, my experience with Digital Extremes has grown and I've got nothing but respect for their team. There's bound to be hiccups here and there... Yes it's grindy, but it's free. And none of it is going away. Unless you were an old player (R.I.P. Raids). I've decided to revise this review because DE deserves all the love they can get. 1999 update rocks btw.

I've never used a VPN, only after I found out I couldn't access digitalextremes.zendesk.com
The other computer I logged on is monitored, so I guess that's why?

VPNs can be considered cheating by Warframe.
Now, I'm no employee at DE- so I can't say for certain- but there can be a MULTITUDE of reasons for such.

1) Pricing in different regions. If you can change your location to get a better deal, people are gonna do that. Not a perfect solution, but it's obvious one.

2) Warframe has some base of operations in China. You know how they are with monitoring literally everything. If it's DE's choice or not- I can't say. (Again, I'm not an employee there, I'm just listing possibilties.)

3) It could be something beyond VPN. Something that looks like a cheat engine. Programs aren't humans, so they're gonna make mistakes.

4) Region-locked areas. Be it your government or ending up in an area that DE blacklists (for legal reasons) could cause problems for them.

Ultimately, this is just what I can speculate from the information I see here.

I couldn't, my IP is blocked, tried a VPN, proxy, still couldn't get in the digitalextremes website.

Is it because I logged on a different computer? Is it so unusual? And not even a warning, straight up ban?
