*Don't read the hidden text if you haven't played the DLC yet*

This game came a long way, and while it's not a perfect game by any means, it is a great experience.

Phantom Liberty offers something that, to me personally, was missing from the main game. The story is beautifully written, the pacing is right on point - not too fast, neither too slow; To me, there wasn't a single point that felt dull. Everything ties together splendidly.

The voice actors' performance is to be nothing but praised. Idris Elba did and amazing performance as Reed and completely nailed the character. It was refreshing hearing Keanu again and I loved the interactions between Johnny and V. It feels like their relationship has matured and they're great friends in spite of everything. The dialogue feels natural and organic, not forced and dry. My congratulations to every VA who played a role in both the main game and the DLC.

All in all, this DLC was an absolute roller coaster of emotions with plenty of highs and lows. I enjoyed every second of it, and all I wish is for it to have never ended. And for So Mi to make an appearance after curing herself, I would have loved a scene like that. It would've been a lot more fulfilling seeing her alive and well, after everything we've been through together.

But alas, what's done is done. The only complaints I have are mostly subjective and not worth getting into. Overall, the game is polished and more than playable. Whether you'll enjoy Phantom Liberty or not, honestly depends on how much you enjoyed the game itself as a whole. I wholeheartedly recommend it to those who enjoyed the main story and wanted more out of it.

Objectively, the game is not bad. It certainly is lacking in some aspects which would've only made it better.

The launch was bad but got patched pretty quick. Still remained buggy, mostly visual and nothing game breaking. The story is pretty great, though kind of short - wish there was more to it (hopefully there are going to be story expansions). The endings are all sorrowful, which is fitting for a cyberpunk game but I wouldn't have minded one happy ending sprinkled in between the depression inducing ones. The music, atmosphere, dialogue, animations and whatever - nothing to complain here. The city is colorful and it feels alive. In the end, it is what it is and I'm glad I got to play it. I still enjoyed the game and had a lot of fun in spite of everything else.

The story is rock solid, great narrative, characters really well built - absolutely no issues here. The atmosphere of the game is on point, and it can be pretty obscure and creepy at times. Loved the feeling this game gave me. The soundtrack fits really well with the atmosphere.

The gameplay mechanics are pretty tough at first. You'll have to make an effort to learn how stuff works and if you have played the Witcher 2 or Witcher 3, muscle memory will be your biggest enemy here. If you like a challenge and a little bit of frustration, I totally recommend this game. In the end it was all worth it and the only regret I have is not playing this game earlier.

Bear in mind that this game is 12 years old. If you're coming here expecting a modern gameplay you're already off to a bad start. I wanted to quit so much in the first 30 minutes. Everything feels extremely weird at first, but once you get used to the mechanics everything is buttery smooth.
I have zero complaints about this game, it's a really old game after all and I'm pretty sure it kicked ass when it got released. Many things have changed since 2008 and there's no point in complaining or comparing this game to its younger brothers.

If you played the first Insurgency and you liked it, you'll absolutely love this one.
