Check my massive post on the 1-hand sword thread on the BB forum. I slam Straussians, Donald Kagan, and many "Western ethnocentrists" in a post that began with Fustel's Ancient City and ends with Caesar's Commentarii de Bello Gallico - and really culminating in my paean to Xenophon, LOL. A strange post on a gaming forum, but that thread has a lot of educational content overall, so I thought to academicize it a bit. Quickly, and badly, written and necessarily incomplete, but I thought you may find it amusing. I'd love to see you contribute on that thread, too ;)
