I'm a solo gamer and rarely venture into the hell known as multiplayer. Spent most of my life on a console or a PC, although I'm an avid reader and occasionally write. I prefer 80's music but love Disco, Classical, and Rock, as well. Favourite genres are Action, Adventure, RPG, and sometimes Simulation. Huge fan of Discworld & Godzilla, too.

As a backer, I had some high expectations going into this game. Child-raising simulators can be clunky (Princess Maker) or punishing (Long Live the Queen), but this fell perfectly into the middle as just right to me.

One of the first things players will notice as they start the game is the art style, which is consistent throughout and quite cute. Another that may not be as immediately apparent is that there's only women, from the butler to the martial artist. This means any possible romance is between the "Little Mistress" and various tutors. Please don't be alarmed! Though she looks like a child at first, the entire point of the game is to help the vampire girl become strong enough to return to her normal, adult body.

The writing in this game is well done, balancing the vampire girl's newfound childish innocence with her mature insights. For instance, having been asleep for hundreds of years she doesn't know much about the world around her anymore, but she comprehends science and psychology. The interactions between her and the different teachers is very good and was a real delight to me during my first few times through. As with other such games, there's different outcomes depending on what you study or become better at, so I still haven't seen everything yet!

If the game is lacking in one thing, however, it's the music. I don't mean it's bad just that there doesn't feel like enough variety. This is probably because you spend so much time in certain parts that you hear the same music. What music is there is still quite enjoyable and fits the scenes or activities.

Speaking of activities, you can send the Little Mistress out on a variety of jobs and more open up as you raise different stats. For instance, if she becomes more proficient with computers, you can have her perform IT assistance or even make YouTube-esque videos for Likes & Profit. If she studies Urban Exploration she can unlock Burglary, which uses different attributes you've raised to perform mini-tasks like picking locks or dealing with security systems. If you focus on making her physically strong, she can attempt arm-wrestling for profit - although in my experience I almost never get good opponents.

You can also go Hunting at the end of the week, where the vampire girl can utilize different attributes to catch her prey (also women) off guard. However, instead of draining them dry she merely takes what she needs and leaves the victim somewhere to recover. Instead of a person, sometimes you find coins or an item she can bite to gain a few points for certain stats. Beware, though! Hunt too much and a powerful vampire hunter will try to hunt you instead - but it's possible to beat her if you're strong.. if not, run!

I'm bad at brief & concise reviews, but overall I thought this was a wonderful game and I am absolutely glad that I was able to follow the development of this game. If you play, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
